Yea I think you are right. they are same in the name but maybe have some different features. I think laptop computers began to be called notebook when they reached a relatively a small size in the 1990s, but they did not have any special note-taking ability. I think this information will be helpful. Cheers

The only advantage of a laptop over the desktop is its portability. Its your mobile computer anytime anywhere. The main disadvantage is its more costly to maintain. You cannot use it for a long period of time as it overheat. It has a keyboard layout of its own that when you have accustom to it you'll find it awkward to use other regular keyboard.

The laptop is a slightly bigger computer with accessories that may or may not be there on a notebook. Most laptops have a ROM device-this is a DVD-ROM now, earlier it was a floppy drive or a CD-ROM. In the case of a notebook computer, the DVD-ROM could be a plug in device, but today miniaturization has made the distinction too indistinct. A notebook computer today has the same computing power of a slightly larger sized laptop. A notebook could be costlier than a laptop with a similar configuration.

I think they are basically the same. The only variation I see is the size, dimension... smaller laptops I woild more likely called notebooks.

In pedantic terms, notebook is a paper-based item and laptop is a portable computer ;) In non-pedantic terms though they are basically the same thing. Often companies will list them as 'laptop/notebook' just to make sure they catch either keyword.

Yes, these are simply 2 titles for the same item. The use of the terms notebook and laptop seems to depend on company, with some companies using one title and other companies using the alternative.

i think laptop and notebook is the same and i just a matter of how people called it or used it.. since laptop word is more familiar rather than notebook that it would be compared a typical notebook that is made in paper..
