When you hear the words, "Get rich quick", do you instantly suspect a scam?

Most times when I hear someone saying, "Get rich quick" or no effort required to make millions, overnight," I suspect a scam. Sad to say, I've fallen for one or two of those scams in my time. Most times, it was one of those scams where they tell you that you can stay home with your kids and still make good part time money. Of course, that's something that would appeal to me as a mom.
I can tell you that they never pay off. Hard work is the only way to make money, online or offline. Have you seen these types of get rich quick ads before? They're everywhere on the Internet. What do you think when you hear someone talking about how you'll make a million with little or no effort? Do you instantly know that it's bogus?

I don't necessarily think it's a scam, but there are no 'get rich quick' schemes. Maybe, if you know thousands of people who are willing to sign up under you (most of them are like that) and you work your buns off say, maybe, 100 hours per week, you can get rich.
Generally speaking, though, I don't believe in any of them.

I work at home and I can tell you 100 hours is about what it takes! It would be so much easier to work a standard job. Then again, I'd have to get a babysitter or pay day care and then that would eat up half my income. So, it balances out.

I just how much money the service providers must be making out of all of these sites. Excellent addition to the discussion. For some reason they like to use the same words, same scripts to attract people. I think it's because they attract people well.
I've noticed many people want to become rich quick. So why offer them something other than a get rich quick site?

Yep, as soon as I hear get rich quick warning bells go off in my head. It automatically makes me think of a scam because 'get rich quick' and scam are two things you don't hear by themselves. You can't get rich quick, there is just no way.

I have to disagree. Although it's more about perception. As I stated above the world has so many self-made millionaires and billionaires.
It's rather quite simple.
Network, do what you love, invest, leverage your time employing either entrepreneurs or workforce.
There are plenty of books about the matter, that will get more in depth with the subjects, but I don't think I missed anything.

good day.. I don't fall for that because I try to use my logic as to how they can make me a millionaire. I mean most people are greedy if they can make one a millionaire overnight then it's only logical they would make themselves very very rich first and foremost and even up to that point they won't even share the secret with others.

This seems to be the 'in thing' now.Its either on the internet or you have people coming to you with these MLM- multi level marketing schmes. The way they put it across sounds very interesting, anyone would fall for it.They arrange meetings, you have people coming on stage and declaring they were so broke, the got into this business and have acquired alot of money they even bring their Mercedes car to show how they have grown in wealth.I have gone for many such meetings.Everything is a scam no doubt. There is definately no such thing as easy money.I do not know if you would have heard about the Gold Quest Schme. This is the latest scam in India. Some crook comes up with a brain wave, many innocent fall a prey, they loose their money and the crook who started it makes a fast buck and vanishes from the scene.

Yeah, I do and , unfortunately, the internet is rife with these types of schemes. Generally the only person getting rich off of this stuff is the person that came up with it in the first place. How can anyone really expect to make $10,000 per month by doing nothing as a whole slew of these schemes suggest?

Hello beautyqueen26,
Whenever I see or read or receive anything like that, I just ignore it. There is no way that you can make money without working hard to find it. I was desperately looking for making money from home like you one time but later I realized that it is not an easy task to stay at home, no hard work and still can make money.

Most of the time I do yes. They do seem to go hand in hand, don't they. It is very popular especially on the internet. And with more people looking to work from home. I tend to pass right by them. I think that is the safest thing to do. As they say, better safe than sorry.

I am a very suspicious person, and believe things which sound too good to be true always are. I think the only way to make money is to go out and get a job and to work hard. I've never fallen for a scammer - and I don't even press those flashing things which keep coming up saying 'Congratulations, you're the 100th person and you've won a free iPod!' I wonder whether anyone's ever pressed those, and what happens if you do? One thing's for sure, I'm betting they didn't get a free iPod!

Yes. I think anyone who has been around the block would. I feel for those who just see stars in their eyes and don't realize there are scams and scammers out there.

It would be nice if we could all be oblivious to the inevitable - there are scams and scammers out there like you said. Everyone should be careful and steer clear of these 'get rich quick' schemes that promise million - it is they that get the millions and not you!

I have a friend who does MLM kind of. His parents are making $50,000+ every month doing network marketing, but they are using his system of network marketing. I didn't believe it at first because I thought the claims were inflated in the NWM, but, they really do make that much money. I have also seen the other get rich quick themes and it seems to me that if I use hie method, then I could make a pretty penny. I don't know if you would call a year quick, but that is about how long it would take.

That's a lot of money per month for MLM after a year.
I love MLM and suggest you go for it.
Just remember that Network-Marketing is a business of people. If they have a strong system for duplication, presentation and prospecting you're going to a good company.
And remember a 50000+/month can easily be just the start.

Oh that depends.
"Get rich quick" are 3 big words and some ways of really getting rich quick includes getting lucky on a jackpot/lottery or coming into an inheritance.
Otherwise...
So whatever the marketing message says, I will evaluate the opportunity rationally before deciding to partake.
Cheers!

Excellent, the world needs people ready to evaluate things rationally. I just wonder if it would be fun and if I think it would be I do it, simple as that.
Sometimes afterward I think maybe I should be a bit more rational, but I brush it off by thinking it would be as fun.

Yep I always suspect a scam when I hear the phrase "get rich quick". Ofcourse they do that just to catch the atention of those who really seek to find ways to get rich quick. But as the old saying goes, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is not rue". "quick" is the keyword here, how quick that quick is?
if we're talking overnight, or a few days or weeks.. that's crazy. You'll make a million with little or no effort? I don't think so. "no effort" is definitely impossible, "a little effort, is somewhat doable but depends on the legality and how "little" you define that little.
But then, with all due respect, I would have to disagree when you said hardwork "is the only" way to make money. A lot of people are working hard and stil not making much to earn for their retiremet, while there are others who just sit there and earn even while sleeping. Just my humble opinion, we can choose to work smart, rather than work hard. Doing both would definitelybag it. Just my two cents.
