thats a really hard one to answer, i have lost a lot of guy friends because they either get feelings for me, or they think i get feelings for them and it totally sucks. i really dont like this at all, if soem people were more mature it would be easier for people to be friends.

I think u r right Nitya.. They can never be Just friends. According to my perspective, (with reference to Indians-cause I m one of them) when the frienship between two people of opp. gender grows it can turn out as Love, Brother-Sister relationship, Physical attraction. This is what I have personally experienced. Its not mandatory as many say that it has to be Love, infatuation etc.,

from my personal experience, a platonic relationship between a boy and girl is very difficult. maybe when a girl gets used to that boy, she will fall in love with him without knowing.. dont u think so?

Of course boys and girls can just be friends, however if they spend enough time together, and there is actually some commonality between them, etc.. then the chances of that friendship turning into more are very high I would say. But I for sure have some great friends that are girls, and in all seriousness none of those go beyond a great friendship. I have known many of them since elementary school. An interesting topic.
