Will you upgrade to quad core?

Quad-core processors are now truly being used in consumer computers. Will you / have you already upgrade(d)? Why or why not? I will be soon I think, since I think of myself as a power user and I also like having the newest technology to tell you the truth. :)

Realistically, there is a question you should ask yourself before getting one of these multi threaded processors in general. What programs do you have that recognize the multi core capability? How many will actually use it to boost your productivity? The answer to both is that there aren't very many. So I don't see much use right now and will not upgrade.

Yeah, I agree with you on that and that a lot of programs don't really make full use of them. But also having 2 or more cores helps with just doing more than one intensive task at once, like video editing or such. That's partly why I want one.

Very good thoughts... but let me guess what's bringing You the power???
Just to say others that You have quad core cpu??..
Anyway right now I'm working with one core CPU Pentium(III) and everything ids working fine....
Yes it's true I don't editing videos.. but audio I do!
Afterwards I can make busy one of servers to make for me some video editing if I needed too.. lol.. that's called power..
