Hello mylotters, this time I really need your advice on my latest work situation. Yesterday in the office meeting, I was told part of our jobs will be shifted to the Asian country India due to the cheap labour, which means my job is in jeopardise. Therefore, some of my colleagues start their job hunting prior to the redundancy. For me, I don’t know what to do. 1) Should I stay till the redundancy so that I may get a lump sum? 2) But my contract will be end in this August, what if the company won’t renew my contract and pay me the lump sum? 3) What if I found a new job, and I receive the offer to stay after all? Apparently, I prefer to stay if possible as I have been with the company for the past 10 years and get a well paid. But I don’t know what to do at the moment as the company will only consider their priority and benefit first and leave us in limbo. Many thanks in advance for your kind advice and support.

If I am in your situation, I will starting job hunting too, just like what the others is doing now. It's difficult to stay, to wait and see what will come in the future, without being prepared...

You said it, The company will only consider their priority and benefit first... Don't you think you should do the same for yourself? Know your own priorities and your own benefit. In my humble opinion, I would leave that kind of company and look for a more considerate ones, whatever the condition of your present company is. But, if i can it would be better to start your own business and detached yourself as early from being employee so you wouldn't get caught in this kind of situation again. Im not saying it's a bad to be an employee, I am an employee myself stil, but I really think it's not a good situation so I'm trying to find ways to get out of it. Just my two cents.
