Yes. Cell phones can BECOME very addictive just like anything. I am not addicted to my cell as it is a neccesity for work and that's all I use it for. However, cell phones can become addictive like video games, gambling,or food. Is thisnot true? Is just another vice...

In the begining of my new cell phone, i was too much addicted and as the days went on, this addiction reduced and even though i do use cell phones even now, it is for more of my personal matters and for also bussiness matters and not like before simply going on chatting for hours with friends

You cannot say completely like that.. Because of the cell phone you can get lots of good things also.
You know most of the people get the interview calls through cell phone.
Most of the people get the most of the good news through their cell phone only.
Now a days the cell phone is playing the very important role in the human's life.
Now a days you cannot find the people from students to the big business man with out mobile.
Those who are using the mobile in positive ways, this will be very much useful to everyone.

Yupp!!
I agree with that...I have been using cellphone since i was 14..I had a simple set before..but now i have a good one..I can listen music, watch videos,movies..and the main stay in touch with my friends and family...
Not only me cellphone is being used for this purposes world wide...by about 70% of people...Cellphones are the most used gadgets in people..
I am too addicted to cellphone....I get scolded sometimes as my brother sees me...hanging on phone all the time..It has bad side too..coz it may bring disturbance in work and it attracts people in such way that they cant live without it.....
Thats all!!

Hi There,
I totally agree with this! I am not even sure if it is addiction that is the problem. People are used to the fact that they can get a hold of you whenever they want. They get annoyed when they cannot therefore it creates problems. So I think it is more of a being available to other people 24/7 then it is an actual addiction to the cell phone.
cheers,

Anything can be too addictive and affect other important things in life. The Internet is also one very good example too, compared to mobile phones.
The thing is we should not be too engrossed in all things, be it Internet or cellphones. That would be the most important thing

I am addicted to my cell phone and I feel lost without it as it is my calendar, address book and method of contacting people, but it does not get in the way of other things in my life, it just makes my easier. I don't have to carry around an address book, a calendar and some loose change for the phone box as it is all in a small pocket size phone.

I don't feel to be truly addicted to my cell phone. But I can imagine that it will be easy to get addicted in some ways. For example, i always liked to listen to radio broadcasting when I was younger. Not music (I can always pick music from my collection which better suit to my mood), but radio plays, interesting discussions, even dramatized fairy tales :o)
During years I have less and less time to hear radio at home, so cell phone with radio and player is really easy to get used to. What is funny, occasionally I even listen to radio plays not via broadcasting, but downloaded to my player from webpage of my favorite station, as I didn't have enough time to listen during it's premiere :o)
