What do you do with non-working VCR tapes?

Do you throw them out or do something else with them?
I have read on looming groups how to make these little purses with them and also something that you make a bag and add on suction cups and placing bath toys in the bag and then hanging in up above the tub.

I probably would just recycle them. If you want to make purses or bath toys why not? That's like recycling, right? If you have working VCR tapes you may want to sell them on eBay. I am sure there are some older people who still watch them and don't have DVD player.
