Does a cat in your neighbourhood come to your backyard?

We've got a cat that we suspected she's from our neighbourhood. She all of the sudden started coming to our backyard to sleep or play about a couple of months ago. Whenever she saw us, she would just run away though. We started putting some food out for her to eat. At start, she's so scared of us, but after a few weeks, she let us patting her and even very friendly to us. She's very cute - she's very friendly to our 2.5years old daughter as well. Our daughter loves her so much too. Now, the cat hangs around at our backyard almost everyday around the same time. :-)

About 6-7 years ago, I remember the first cat that just came in from nowhere and started to sleep just outside the door. At first it was so shy it hides when we try to go near her (it's a she) and as time passed by, she started to purr and we cleaned her and we really became close. Then she "eloped" with a cat from the neighbor and brought quite a number of kitties until she had a grandkitty. It was about 1 and 1/2 years ago when she left. Her grandkitty is still here though, reminding us when we all had our first kitty.

I had a similar situation at my house a couple of years ago. This cat you speak of may have been abandoned, and that may be why it is hanging out at your place, especially since you have left out food. You may want to ask around the neighborhood to find out if this cat has a home or not, and if not, you may want to adopt it!

We have named this cat ourselves - we call her 'Percy'. Our daughter gave her this name because our daughter loves 'Thomas the Tank Engine' and one of the trains is called 'Percy'. he he. Anyway, we suspect she's not abandoned though - seems like she's got her home to go back to because she normally would just hang around to eat, play and rest and then go away. We reckon she's going around to other neighbor's places to get food as well because she's very huge. he he. Very cute indeed :-)

WE had a cat in our neighborhood that was abandoned by neighbors who picked up and left overnight. He took to sleeping on our front step and we started feeding him as he was just a bag of bones. In the end, he kept getting attacked by other animals and showed up one day really badly bloodied and beaten I did what I thought was right and took him to the vet to be euthanized....very sad.

I have a cat that comes to my house sometimes. Although I haven't seen the cat, I know it has been here. Sometimes there will be paw prints on my car if I haven't parked it in the garage. LOL That's the only way I know.

That's so adorable :-) There are two cats from my neighborhood that visit my backyard a couple times per week. I don't go outside to play with them, but I do leave them food. They usually stay only long enough to eat a little and then they're gone...
