Copy and paste? Why do need to have 500 posts in order to do it? It makes it very difficult to post accurate links to internet sites! That is the main reason this makes me upset! I try to paste in a link and it will not let me! :( Anybody else agree with me?

While I agree that it is a bit annoying, I understand the mylot principles behind it. It is to deter spammers from flooding the boards with links to stupid sites that make no one money. This way we can have a quality community that has real topics, not spambots that make it unbearable to be here.

I understand the anti-spamming thing, but 500 posts seems a bit excessive to me. I think they should lower it to about 100 - 200. I don't think spammers are going to want to put that kind of effort into it to get that many posts, but I could be wrong.

Its just because Mylot do not want plagiarism and want to have a quality discussion. Mylot is a platform for discussions regarding anything and it wants its users to respond to what they think and not what other have written. I hope you understand.

Once you have responded to 500 discussions in your word (once the little number next to your name hits 500,) you will be able to copy and paste. The reason why MyLot doesn't allow you to do this before then is that they want you to prove to the community that you will write your own stuff, and not just rip off others. It's the same with everyone, so don't ake it personally.

i'm agree with you. it's really a trouble! i seldom paste any link on mylot. but the fact that i can't copy and paste on mylot untill i have 500 posts troubles me a lot! For example, i used to say hello before i response to any discussion. just before i responsed to your post, i wanted to say "hi chaunce54" first, but i gave up coz i have to type your name. if i am allowed to copy and paste, what i need to do is just moving my mouse. sometimes i want to repeat other people's words to emphasis it, but i gave up at the end because i have to type it..

I agree with you but to be honest, i also agree with mylot. Mylot expects to have trusted users and user(s) who have been active to be able to copy and paste.
Their other reason may also be that they don't want copyright claims from the source. I usually write my own content and i think it's the best way to get the creative juices flowing!
