Yes, this does seem to be an issue.. People are sporting it for the wrong reasons. Not for what it is really for.. I have seen some people that will just pull there cell phone out, just to make it seem like they have money and got it going on.. To me this is stupid... Why be a show off??? When they know that they are going to have a hard time paying off there bill..

I agree with you. My daughter has had several different cell phones, each with more features and more glitz. I have had my phone for a couple of years. It works well and does what I need it to do so why waste the money?

These days carrying a mobile has become like a show off and one can see many college going students carrying mobile just for fashion and not for that much use actually and for professional it is of more use as they dont use it for fashion and instead they use for their official purpose more

Yeah. A lot of people tend to just show of their phones. Usually they say to themselves "aha!!! My phone is a new model compared to yours! I've got more features!". I admit, I did that years ago. Now, well, I don't take it out unless I need to. I just keep it on standby always. :D

Not all people show off with their mobile phones, only those first time users and the gadget freaks do a show off. But when some one shows off their mobile, basis instinct makes you too do so.

I think that would be true especially here in my country because I know people who never pays for their expenses (e.g. their house or electricity) and even their debts to people they loan their money to! however, they still avail themselves of newer handsets or cellphones - the ones more updated even if they don't really need it! I can never imagine how they afford themselves with those things...:(

There are people out there who think that having a big flashy expensive noisy cellphone is some sort of status symbol. I don't think that at all. My cellphone does have a cute little red faceplate on it, but that's because I LIKE IT, not because I care if others notice it. I love my litle red phone.

when you are still young or your parents are the one buying your celphone then i think it is a show off. even it came from saving your allowances i think it is a show of. if you are working then having a high tech celphone that you bought out from your own sala ry then i think you deserve that even you boast it around still you deserve it. thats my views about your discussion.

People who just have their first cell phone tends to show off.. its happen to me but i guess its in our blood... I mean being to excited having our first cell phone tends to make us loose control. Without realising that we just want people to know how happy we are and are overwhelming with having the first cell phone, it will makes people irritate with our behaviour. So i guess its normal for people to show off with their new cell phones. Even it is not in the "highest tech" one..
