it's a lot controversy going on about myspace now days. the news makes it seem soooooo bad for children to have one and in some cases it is,i agree. But we can't always blame the children for what happens, the parents are to blame as well. if your child is under 14 [which is the legal age to sign up on myspace] you should monitor her everytime she gets on the computer. and if they complain about you always reading over thier shoulder;simply respond with,"I'm your mother;i do what i do because i love you." they will probly not want to hear that at the moment because they are young and wanna be "free" but when they get older they will understand,i did. my mother was always on my case when i used the internet around that age,and i dont blame her, because back then i kinda knew about preditors and all that but not so much as i know now. i gave my mom a hard time everytime i got on the computer and she would just simply take my privilages away until i got my act right. now being 18,i know everything i need to know about preditors and all that. but on the flip side;myspace has its +'s. when you get around my age and graduate high school and college even, you tend to loose contact with close friends. you know;everyone is going away to different colleges and all that,so it can be hard keeping in touch by phone. its amazing how myspace really works becuase you find people or they find you that you would never think to remember you or anything. my opinion on myspace;tom should make it so the legal age is 16 and even at that age still tom should make it so the person has to put a valid e-mail address to contact a parent to let them know thier son or daughter is on myspace. on another note;myspace is very helpful when you want to major in computers in college. it helped me A LOT over the years. i learned so many codes to do different things on my page and also,i do a lot of picture designing. that is really my major. im going to be majoring in computer graphc design and myspace has helped me a lot in practicing. whats your feedback?

The problem is that the teens (14 - 17) are using Myspace to stalk their enemies, make fun of the "dorks" and torment others in general. Not too mention, the pedophiles that are preying on these kids. Myspace is great, but I have a feeling that sooner or later it will become an 18 and over site.

i understnad where you are comminq from and yes i know people that are that way but hey,you can't help who people are. you cant help how people use myspace and myspace does have a spot where they can report abuse so its up to the person whom is being stalked or made fun of if they want to report it or not. and i feel like it will be that way soon,it should be that way now -18+ only.
