Okay, I have five kids. All of them went away with my parents for the long weekend, well all of them except for the 3 yr old. So, tomorrow I am taking him to the zoo. He did go once before, but he was only an infant. He is so excited about his trip, he simply can hardly stand it.
So, do you have fun memories of trips to the zoo? All of my kids have always loved the zoo, but ours has been under renovation for sometime, so we haven't gone in quite a while....

there's nothing more fun than going to the zoo and seeing it through the eyes of your children. a few months ago, my husband and i brought our two kids (aged 5 and 2) to the zoo. it was fun watching my kids as they watch the animals. they were awed by the big elephant, ageing hippo, big dirty spitting orangutan..... i enjoyed hearing their squeals as they pointed at the different shapes and sizes of birds and geese. and how we all rolled over in laughter trying to avoid bird droppings from the aviary! those were such good memories we had.
enjoy your trip. and don't forget your digital camera to capture those kodak moments! ;)

I can still remember going to the zoo back in first grade, late 1960's. I can still remember bits and pieces of it.
I then can remember going with neighbors and I got a pink balloon. The balloon made it home and then when I was outside with it, it got away. I can still see myself in the backyard watching it flying away and crying!!!!
My youngest is going to the Baltimore Zoo for her first grade field trip in a couple of weeks. Hubby is going with her.
They redid the zoo and now there is so much more walking to do, especially to the elephants! My favorite.
I hope you have a great time!

Hi there quiltedblessings!
Five kids? Wow!
Well, we have a scary experience in a zoo but it has nothing to do with the animals. I remember me panicking when ouyr son choked on chips.
Aside from that, we had happy memories there, especially the most recent one which is in Malabon Zoo. Our son enjoyed it alot especially when they were feeding the snake, then the alligators, the tigers and the lions.
Too bad we don't have a zoo here in the province. The nearest one is a good 5 hour-ride away or one hour away if you board a plane which will be very expensive if you just want to go to the zoo.
We visit the zoo everytime we go to Manila for vacation and the next one will be on April, 2009.

That's cute. I hope that you have a lot of fun with him. I haven't been to the zoo in like the longest time ever. I want to go again. I used to go the Bronx zoo with my school like every year since fourth grade. I want to go again hopefully I could go during the summer and see the pretty animals.
