I like to buy fresh flowers for the house, but somehow they just die in a days time. I would love to love to keep the flowers alive for a longer time, say a day or two more. Fresh flowers are as it is expensive, and throwing them in a day really pinches me. I dont feel that i get my monies worth in a day, its just like trowing the money away. But i cant help it, i simply love the freshness these flowers spread in the house and i endup buying them :( Does any of you have any way or method to keep flowers fresh for a longer time?

Before you put them in the vase make sure the water is room temp with a teaspoon of sugar. Cut the bottoms at an angle. Make sure you place one flower at a time in the vase and they are not cramped. Mine last for a week sometimes longer. Good luck

I see that someone has already told you about putting sugar in the water. Also cut the end at an angle before putting in the water. If you have fresh tulips, put a penny in the water, that keeps them from drooping. You can also buy flower preservative when you get your flowers, sometimes the flowers will have a small package with them.

Hi Flowers can be kept fresh for a longer period by cutting the stem in a slanting way. Adding sugar or an aspirin to the water also helps. Change the water daily and add a pinch of fresh sugar Doing this keeps them alive for double the time
