When do you consider a person your bestfriend?

My best friend live a good ways from me and we seldom see each other. She is oppisite from me in many ways but i have considered her my best friend for over 30years.If i needed to talk to her at 3a.m. i could call her and she would drag out of her nice warm bed to listen. And she knows that i would do the same for her.She can give me a different prespective on problems than would occur to me and tell me stright up if i'm being stupid! If she couldn't be honest with me i wouldn't consider her my best friend.We can go months without talking to each other but the minute we start talking it's like it was the day before.

For a person to accept as a best friend i will look for many criteria. If he is not in the category i will not accept him as my best friend. I will try to avoid those who doesn't respect others. These are my criteria. 1. trustworthy 2. must be able to share feelings 3. should not tell those things to others which were meant to be a secret between us. 4. should be with us when we are depressed or in a problem. 5. should encourage us to do good things. ABOVE ALL THESE YOU SHOULD ALSO BE FOLLOWING THE THINGS YOU SAID YOUR BEST FRIEND TO FOLLOW

i believe friendship has to grow it doesnt happen over night. trust is the biggest issue.you need to be able to confind in someone and tell them personal things you dont want the whole world to know the next day. you need to have some kind of chemistry,like things in common,good morals and humor i think in a friendship relationship.

I don't know if I have a criteria. I guess someone that understands me and isn't quick to judge me. I have to have a connection with the ones around me, whether they know it or not. I need to feel like something will go somewhere in a friendship before I invest in a friendship. I'm not a critical person, I just don't want to get hurt. As much as that pains me to say.

When he/she simply knows what's in your heart without even telling him or her...when he/she is always by your side..

Long years of friendship, always there during you're loneliest and happiest time. Willing to guide, protect, advice and most of all accept you of who u are. Don't judge u but rather talk to u when u commit mistakes.

I really don't have any criteria because I don't really do the whole best friend thing. It's kind of silly in my opinion. Friends are friends no matter what type of label you slap on them. I consider friends more in terms of who I trust more and whom I can talk to more about things. If I have more trust in them, then they're higher on my 'friends list' so to speak.

it must take a long time to be the best,trusted friend. and the moral is most important,such as responsibility,optimism for life.

The famous line: When they are there when the rest of the world walks out . Always there for you , knows when you are upset , Best of times are with them, and many reasons big and small.You just feel a peace with them.
