What's the longest time that you've ever stayed awake?

One time I stayed up way past thirty hours. It all started when I got to bed around four AM, one morning. This was years before my child was born. I had insomnia at the time. Anyway, someone called me really early, Friday morning, maybe 8 am. And, I could not get back to sleep. It turned into the weirdest weekend of my life. I didn't sleep the entire time through Saturday. Maybe I napped. I can't remember. I was so tired by Sunday that I almost passed out. I must've had coffee or something to make me stay awake so long. Staying up that long did not turn out well for me. What's the longest amount of time that you've ever stayed awake? Do you remember why you stayed awake so long?

I think that the longest amount of time was probably when I was working 23 hour shifts at work. I would get off work and finally have a day off but would come home and get on the computer to instant message my fiance (at the time bf) and then he would come and pick me up so that we could be together. He would usually take me back towards his county and we'd end up either in the back of his truck or in the park bordering the county, or we'd end up at his friends house or his house. Either way we'd be together for awhile, but I Would fall asleep. So On Average, One Whole Day And A Few Hours After That... Although I think the real last time was a few months ago when we stayed awake for two days...

The longest time I have stayed awake would be 54 hours, that was due to excess tiredness and serious jet lag. I did everything I could do to fall asleep but I couldn't. So I spent some time on mylot, watching movies and reading books. I assure you that was a super painful experience and I felt like I was a zombie of some kind.

I went through that same type of insomnia for around 6 months. It really sucked. I would only get naps in. It all started after I took a stimulant. It was a legal supplement called yohimbe. I wondered how in the world could something like that affect me like it did for that long. It actually started after I took the supplement. Very wierd indeed. I got back to normal after so long but I had took it before and it never did that. I probably also had too much stress on me at the time. I'm just glad it went away. For a while I thought I was going to have insomnia for good.

When I was working midnights one weekend like 2 years ago, I didn't nap or anything before I went in and I was up pretty early. (Before 11am) and when I got home and showered it was like, 9:00am (worked till 7:30) I was just starting to fall asleep when someone knocked on the door and my little brother decided to answer it and it ended up being for me. I never ended up getting to sleep till pretty late that night (Or even really early the next day) because by the time I got rid of the people at my door I was overtired and awake. Pretty much gave up on trying to sleep when i couldn't after about 2 hours of laying in bed. i was NOT happy!

The longest I've ever stayed up is 4 days straight. It was definitely not on purpose. I've had insomnia most of my life, and although I was tired beyond mentioning, I wasn't sleepy. I tried over the counter sleeping pills and that didn't even work. After four days without sleeping I thought I was going to loose my mind. My brain was strung out. But then God had mercy and after 4 days I fell asleep. :)

I remembered being awake for around 40 hours, more or less, because I was too excited to go to sleep being that the next day was my birthday and I was going to go on an exciting trip. I couldn't sleep, and the next thing I knew it was morning and I had to get ready. Then I spent another whole day awake enjoying that trip. I also remembered feeling a bit light headed after the trip was over

48 hours over Christmas 1989. It was just one long round of parties and get-togethers, plus fitting work in between. I managed to do it using Pro-plus and drinking vast amounts of coffee, but I paid for it afterwards. It took me a couple of weeks for my body clock to get back into sync again.

It was several years ago: more than 3 days. Here in my country, Xmas is in summer. There was this long weekend and Xmas was on Monday, so every disco was going to be open on Sunday night. I started partying on Friday (22nd) then, danced all night long until dawn, then went home, helped my Mum with errands and Xmas shopping, cooking etc. That Saturday (23rd) night we went clubbing again (BTW I love dancing all night long till my legs are crampy) Same MO as the night before. On Sunday 24th, Xmas Eve, in my country we have a huge celebration and fireworks etc, (Xmas itself is more kindo family picnic/brunch). So I had lots of things to do that day. After celebrating, my Dad drove us (none of my friends actually clubbed with me the three nights, they kinda take turns!) to the club. Well, you know what happened. When I got out of the club my boyfriend invited me to Xmas lunch at his family house on the beach. (remeber: scorching summer) I had planned to sleep, but you can't sleep on a motorbike, can you? So we went and spend the 25th on the beach with his family. So I went to bed and sleep well after the midnight on 25th so actually the 26th. I was 21, and i knew i wasn't going to have another opportunity to have so much fun in my life. Almost two years later, way after my party girl days were over, I had a baby, who's now 6 yr. I don't regret that weekend, I had actually planned it all but for the invitation to the beach. Now that I'm 29 and still love partying though I dont, once in a blue moon my husband and I go to a club. My body aches for three days in a row!!!!

I always fall asleep the moment my head hits the pillow. I guess I am just a normal, ordinary guy after all.

I'm a bit insomniac myself. I'd usually stay up until 4 or 5 am. I have experienced staying awake more than 24 hours back when I was still in the technical service field where I'm working on an equipment and have to stay there the whole shift to repair, and to monitor the peformance. Even nowadays I'm still having those times that I'm awake the whole day and the whole night. I spend more of my night times in front of my computer surfing the net, and chatting and before I noticed it, the day is already dawning LOL! Sometimes my body clock is already in reverse. Awake in the evening, and sleeping during daytime.

It was last new year's eve when we had a street party. I've been awake for more or less 24 hours from december 31 up to january 1. I didn't take a nap also 'cause we were having a great time. I didn't notice that its already morning. When the sun had shined,we did not sleep yet, instead,we eat and talk so long. I was not able to sleep well at that day because i have to take care of my niece also. And so i felt very tired and stressed. But its worthy because we had lots of fun,a very memorable new year for me...

Onxe, a long time ago when I was... I think thirteen or fourteen, my best friend at the time came over to my house on a long weekend to spend the night. Of course, we stayed up all night talking and watching TV, and before we knew what was happening, it was the next day. By the time it was time for her to leave the next afternoon, I was no longer tired and went through the rest of my day normally, falling asleep again late the next night. So it was right near 48 hours. I've stayed up similar lengths of time after that, but never again quite THAT long.
