Always known that I really don't like heights, I tend to not put myself in situations where I have to go up high. Yesterday however hubby and I were putting on the roof to our garage. I bravely helped put up the scaffolding, the planks the ladder to get up the scaffolding then it was time to go on the scaffolding (about 2 metres high) and wwwaaaaauuuwww I freaked out; it must have been a very pathetic look me on the scaffolding clinging on to the roof and not physically being able to move - hells teeth. Hubby was just great, coaching me through it, me who was supposed to be helping. Once I regulated my emotions (lots of deep breathing) I was able to get off, man and looking up it was not even that high but in my mind I was way up high and felt totally not connected. Anyway that's what one calls a fobia - do you have any and do they hinder your everyday life? I have decided I need to do something about this one...

I am not scared of heights...but have a fear of falling. When I was a youngster I fell from the top of a tree and landed on one foot...it tore my clothes off and I have scars on my stomach..arm and leg from where the branches tore my skin open...then a few years later someone pushed me out of the hay mow.....and I fell on a pile of hay and a pitch fork got embedded in my foot....well I love flying because I feel safe with the plane around me...but escalators terrify me!

I hate heights, even looking up at a tall building can give me that dizzy off balance feeling I get- same as if im stood inside at the top of a tall building looking down. I cant climb up ladders, even climbing up on a chair to reach something makes me feel odd!
I also hate spiders, thats slightly less of a fear, but i cant be in the room with one, and too big and they do make me feel sick.
