What will you do if your socks have a hole?

If I can still use them, I definitely will still wear them for a longer period of time. Your post just reminds me of my dad. My mom buy many pairs of socks for my dad actually, but she don't want him to use them that fast. Thus my dad dare not to use so many socks even his old ones have a big hole. Thus we will do that for him.

I don't wear socks with holes. I can not wear anything with hole in it. Many years ago my mother used to repair those. I know how, but I never do. I recycle it for cleaning if white or just dump them....

I bin them straight away, I hate socks with holes in, my toes immediately find that hole and it becomes painful when they poke through the hole. they seem to go in the toes for me rather than the heel. Socks are cheap enough to buy, so in the bin they go.

depending how big the hole in my socks...but right now im not fond of wearing one since i dont wear rubber shoes anymore...but my husband does...im lazy to sew actually i just keep it aside and give to my brother...

I just missed the interesting topic from youless. Sure, i wear socks even if it has a hole in it. But if it manageable size, i mean if it is small one, i still wear it, as sweat absorption is not a problem. Another usage of the torn socks i make use of is, i use it as glove to , when i clean my bike, to get rid of the dusts. But a lazy man, i am in this regard, as the cleaning,of bike, is a rare phenomenon. Take care friend.

there was this time in P.E. we had to take our shoes off i remember that i couldn't find a pair other than that pair so i took them off... since then i tried pairing up all my socks... or you could make them into sock puppets for your kids!

If we have hole in the socks then that was great. Because we can get air circulation through that. that was a kind of ventilation. thats feels good.isn't it. i wear for some more days, if i have a hole in my socks.

I always used to wear a socks eventhough it have a hole but I have to fixed it my hand and just wore it inside the house.....and just used the new socks for outside.........

It used to be that I would dawn the socks, but we have to many of them that it is not worth it. I sort of inherited my younger son's socks and besides I would have to buy warning thread and for some reason they have too much of the kind that does not match so most of the thread is wasted. I will wear the socks until they are too worn off or the holes are too big. Then we will throw them away. Sometimes we use them as dust cloths.

I will try to recycle them or throw them away. I can't stand socks with hole since it means wealth leaking away.

Hi youless! Oh, I still do wear socks that have holes as long as they are not visible. haha.. It can still serve its purpose so why should I throw them. I hate having a hole in my socks I usually then either throw them away or give them to the puppy to play with and tear up some nore or play tug of war with them LOL!! So I guess you can say I save money on buying play toys. LOL!!

I am very sad but i can not part with my old socks. If i have them for a long time they become my favourite ones. Now i have many socks and the most of them are holey and the other ones look also trashed. The time a sock is ready for the bin ......it is a long time and they must have many holes. It is not fashionable to wear holey socks but it is no really bad. My friends smile if they see my socks and some of them say i am a little bit sloppy. I do not care what other people say if the see my holey socks.

it depend on how much i spend on them.if they are much cheap,i may dump them.or i will wear them for long time.

I always throw them out beacuse they bother me when I have a hole in them. My hubby and kids continue to wear them even if they have holes in them.

It would depends how big the hole is. If it is just a small hole, I'll continue to wear it. Otherwise I will dump it.

I will still wear them because like you say I don't have to take off my shoes. Unless the hole is too big and the socks is too old then I will dump it.

still wear them. i don't like wasting things either. so you have a hole in your socks and do you feel uncomfortable when you wear them? to be frankly,i feel cool. ^__^

If it is a very small hole then i do not mind it.But in a few days it will get bigger.Then i must change it.Thanks

If it's a "good" pair of socks then I'd advise darning them. If it's a pair of el-cheapo tube socks then Iuse them as mitts to dust furniture. Also I use them as "night gloves". Put a lot of cream on your feet and pull on those socks. In the morning you will have very soft feet.
