copyrights or not

i soo like playing a strategy game c&c generals, i come up to idea to make my own remake of this game which will be able to play online as a mmorpg, i am willing to use some things from real game, like units, buildings and other names but add some more things that will make this game able to be played ower the browser what i whant to ask is are there any copyright in this, can i use this names or cannot :?

Depends in which type of "units, buildings and others" you will use. If its a "common name" like Ion Cannon, Tesla Coil, Barracks, no problem.

i forget to ask, what about the pictures, logos for those units and building ... im not so good designer so i would like to use also this from the game, can i do that or can i use them after i edit them, change them into black&white or something like that just to change them from its original
