I just want to work out how much money a newcomer normally gets and compare it to what an experienced user gets. If anyone's curious, I've only been here for five days, but I already have 28 cents.
The earnings only seem to update every two days, even though it says differently. My first day, I earned 6 cents. Two days later, I earned another 5 cents. Today, I earned 17 cents. I may earn more next time!

Last year when i first started, everyday i post about 10-15 response, in 2 months time i withdrew my very first 10 bucks.
Then i have stop responding because there was one time the payout rate was really low. Now, i still got some discussion notification from my fren, and most of the time i only reply on his post because i like his discussion very much.
So, with only two to three post per week, my earning has been quite stagnant at USD3.xx.
I hope to write more so that it could really be a handsome earning like some of the respondent above.

There technically isn't any difference between the earning potential for new users and veterans. It's just that veterans generally know how to make the most of their postings which may equal higher pay.
The earnings do update every day despite what you may have experienced. You have to be active to receive earnings. I have heard in the past that the algorithm needs a certain amount of posting to calculate...if you don't post enough it can't calculate and those posts will be combined with future posts until you have enough for earnings. I have heard that you need 10 posts but I know it doesn't have to be that many depending on the length.

Thanks, that helped. I didn't think about some kind of post limit. I think that's actually why I didn't earn every single day. I only posted once on the off days. I'll post more often from now on. I think my goal will be to start, at least, 1 discussion per day, and I'm making sure I pick best responses.

Not as much as I hope. Sigh, that's the problem when you don't have referrals.
I have been around for over a year and I have been active on and off.
It kinda sucks really... I only got $200+ so far.

right now my stats say I have $9.23, just a bit more to payout. I remembered on my first day here I got 14cents. Now I get an average of 20-30cents every time I sign in (I'm not here everyday).
But I noticed the earnings does get updated everyday, though. It's just because there is no fixed appraisal system to determine our rewards that it may seem it doesn't get updated everyday. plus, you can see the update counter at the bottom of your earnings details change very minute.

I have not really done any major studies on this but I have managed to get paid. Made about $11 plus on my firt go. It took me the better part of a year to get this posted. I think most of it was due to the fact that there were many months when I would not touch Mylot after months of daily postings.
However, like you, I've noticed that once you've made your first payout, you manage to get more per earnings. I think the general rule of thumb though should be around US cents 1 per postings, of which you should probably have a post that goes on for about a paragraph.
Once again, I've found that I've started averaging higher postings. Even hit US 45 cents one day, this was a sum that I would not have been able to hit before payout even when I was posting actively.
I think the key is to post good postings as well as many postings. It's always easy to go for topics you have knowledge about and are passionate about. This way you will be able to post a decent amount and quality postings. I think you also get more if people respond to your postings - arguments in this case are good for business.

ive managed to make 6.23 since i joined a little over a week ago. but i dont just keep my postings to user discussions either. i try to find all kinds of things to comment to. for instance i found that you can post comments on news stories in the news section. same with the blogs. starting discussions is good too because i think the more people that post to a dicussion the more the persont that started the dicussion makes. but i also have a few referals as well. they dont make me a whole lot but that helps too. heres what you do...dont limit your responses to just simple one line responses. share your point of view with us and then explain why you have that point of view and even some life experiance as to why you have that point of view. that will go a long way in increasing your earnings. but also dont worry about your earnings so much. just try to have fun here and you will see the earnings come soon enough. and welcome to mylot. hope you enjoy.

I have been here a few months now and am up to $3.16. I have wondered the same as you about how the posts are assessed. Some days I get 1 cent and others 20 or 30. I have never been sure why. I stopped posting for a while because I became frustrated about how the calculations are made. I thought maybe I had to start discussions for it to work but I have never had many responses to my discussions. I think I get about 1 cent for each person who replies but I am not sure.
I have always tended to make longish replies so I am not sure if that matters or not. I see lots of short posts by people. In the end I decided it was not worth posting just to make money as that seemed so hard so now I just post when I feel like saying something.

When i register, i am not active on it. I just reply few post. So my first day, i earn $0.04 cents. After a week later, i started getting active here. Tat day i post around 40 replies. I earn around $37 cents. Until now i am earning around $1.12. I try to work hard to reply around 40 post per day so that i am earning around 40 cents in one day. FYI, the more you post the more you get paid. But if you post quality response, u get paid better, and also getting a higher ranking on it!

I have been here for a little bit and I know there is some motiivation for the money thing but I have learned the best thing is the process itself. Ask alot of questions, meet people from other areas and just have fun and the money thing will take care of itself! Happy MyLotting!

I am online on myLot a couple of hours a day, and my earning seems to average to about 25 to 30 cents a day.
If I put in more time, posting and responding more frequently, I should be earning more.
You are doing fine. Just keep up to it.
Have a nice day !

the question is "how much time did I have to put in on here answering posts to make that 5 cents or 17 cents or whatever? How long were you on mylot posting to make that much money, because that is now how much you are getting paid an hour.
I really like MyLot, but don't see it as a way to make serious money, I have other online options for that. MyLot is a great way to meet people and share ideas and knowledge with them, it's a wonderful networking tool, and a great way to just shoot the breeze when you are bored. But it won't pay for my groceries, or even buy me a gallon of gas at this point, lol.

Well, I think earning in mylot depends upon many factors. As what others said, quality postings and responses would help a lot in our earnings. and most of all is the time you invested on the site. If you have much time to be here in a day, doing quality posts and responses, well, you are fine. And one thing I would say is that, you will never felt bored here. It is fun to reply the discussion. In my first day here in mylot I earned $.36. Oh!! then it grows as the days go by. I just keep on posting and replying to discussions because I enjoyed doing it, and without my noticed my earnings raise higher and higher until I reach the pay out without thinking much about it.
Well, when you enjoy doing something, you won't noticed that you are already in the finish line, so to speak. so, keep on posting and forget your earnings. It will just grow without your notice.
Happy myloting.
