Do you recycle stuff like this too?
I never buy any of those tupper style storage boxes. I simply use the plastic tub the Ice Cream came in when it's finished and save them up in the cupboard. Then I just use a permanent marker and write on the lid whats in in and when the due by date is that is on the bag of whatever I'm storing. This not only saves on storage space because the boxes all fit into each other and the lids can be stacked on top. But it also saves on the trash that goes out. We have to pay for each time our garbage can is emptied so it helps to save on that too. I was wondering if I'm just being a terrible cheapskate or if other people recycle packaging too?

Hey, I think cheapskate is a complement. Why buy something when you can get it free and save the environment at the same time? That way you have money to spend on priorities.

I'll join the cheapskate Club....I wouldn't want you to see what's re-cycled in my storage! You're a wonderful addition to this planet..keep up the good work!

Thanks for the compliment both of you. Although I think I should also place a small warning here. Don't go over the top "hoarding" containers because they might come in handy one day. When I'm rinsing out something I'll make a note of what I want to keep in it. If nothing springs to mind then I may decide to get rid of it anyway. At the moment I have two brown glass jars with lids sitting at the top of my cupboards staring at me. I'm pretty sure they are just the right size to use as a vase or to hold some kitchen utensils. I put them up there as a "visual reminder" to actually do something with them.
