What scares your cat?

Do ordinary things scare your cat? Does the sound of a car frighten your cat? My big cat used to love sitting in the window looking outdoors. So, one day my spouse brought in a crow feather that had dropped on the ground outside. And, it really upset our big cat. He hid from it for awhile. And, then he attacked it. And even after we put it up, he kept scratching the cabinet where it was hiding. Today I left a black towel on the floor. And, my cats totally went nuts. They wouldn't step on the towel, as if it were a big hole in the floor. Maybe that's what it looked like to them. Cat vision is different than humans. They got close enough to smell the towel, but it really bothered them. I'm not sure if there was some weird smell on the towel that scared them. When does your cat freak out?

This is going way back! It was in the time that Ghostbusters had just come out. Just for fun I'd gotten a keychain that made "ghostbuster" noises when you pressed on a button. Well my parents had a cat that like to climb on my lap as soon as I sat down at their house. I was telling them about my cool gadget and demonstrated it. Mind you this wasn't a cat that shocked easily, especially if it had a nice cosy lap to lay on ... but my keychain noise scared it so much that it almost hit the ceiling!

lol, maybe he thought the ghost busters were coming after him. One time when I was a kid my dad who was a saleman for restaurant supplies and food products brought home a promtional 2 foot tall blow up bull. The cat we had at the time was scared of it, and after it realized it wasn't a real animal, it still would bob it's head up and down and stare at the thing everytime she walked by. It was funny.

Ha ha ha. that brought a smile to my face. I can just imagine that! Actually that reminded me of the time when I had two Siamese kittens. I'd gotten a huge 2 foot Garfield and put it next to the couch. Well they were looking at it like some kinky alien had landed and kept pretty much out it's way. Well until they plucked up enough courage to sneak up on it and try to kill it. That's when they "discovered" that it was not alive and would not react to their claws. After that they'd fight who would be allowed to sleep on Ggarfieds head!

My cat would be freaked out by a noisy keychain. Once he "killed" an electric toothbrush, because he didn't like the noise. I was brushing my teeth and set it on the counter, turned off and he attacked it.

My cat is afraid of the outdoors. She's always been inside so that makes sense. She also hates vacuums and anything really large that looks big and menacing to her. However anything that just happens to be a box she loves, no matter how big that box is. She's learned to recognize towels, bags and other pretty normal household things so they don't really bother her anymore.

Hi There, Honestly...my cats freak out about almost everything and anything. If there is any little noise they go crazy. When the neighbours play their music my cats basically run around in circles. It was funny at first but now it is a little crazy. Other than noises they tend to get distressed about smelling other animals such as when raccoons are nearby. cheers,

Your cat sounds a tad neurotic. Mine is pretty unflappable except when it comes to the vaccum cleaner. The vaccum usually gets him scampering under the bed, or at least into another room. The dog is alittle braver, but he is not a big fan of the vaccum either.

Our Paisley seems a bit afraid of anything new on the floor. She acts as if it will bite her. She sticks her neck out and pulls it back. Then she walks all around it working herself up so that she can sniff it. After a bit, she will just walk away and ignore it. The others jump when there is a big noise.
