The Well is Dry

I have run out of ideas. I have spent the past couple or three days trying in vain to think up a bright, witty discussion without any success. I can't even write about my ego as that seems to have hidden itself away too. So if you don't see anything from me for a while, it's not because I am not here, it's just that I have been struck dumb. Now I read that back, it looks like my ego has made a tiny appearance. Look after yourselves and play nicely. XX

You haven't run out of ideas - you just can't see them right now, that's all. But you will - and that ego is going to reappear too, trust me. Go check your PMs, please, p1key. I think I might be able to help get that ego to poke it's little head out again.

It's 'little head' nova? LOL
Surely an ego has a 'big head'?

There are plenty of ideas in that amazing labyrinth of imagination you call a mind my darling p1ke I am sure of it! Perhaps you just need to rest your brain a little to let it flow - you know we are all here with baited breath waiting on your next little treasure and perhaps that is the problem - we are putting to much pressure on! Ok we will give you a break for a day or two but after that I will be heading down there to force you to write if you haven't already started! lol Hugs as always xxx

That has happen to me more often then not. like you when i draw a blank i like to just wait until my ideas start to come back to me. I rather not post silly topics. Don't worry, it will all come back to you my friend

Ever since I started doing the link thing, I have been making twice as much as I use to. I try to put my personal feelings in it. That way, even if someone else does report on it, mine will still be original. It allows the person to read what you have written and then they can go to the actual article and there is proof of what you said. You can also do informative information that others would need or want to know.

I've been having a tough time coming up with discussion topics as well. I know I phase in and out of that... more out than in it seems.
Ah well... summer won't last forever. Before too long the weather will turn cold and dreary again, and many of us will have nothing better to do with our time but to come on here and come up with a zillion new topics for discussions.
**Cheers to the end of summer!!!**

Well yes - but I like the summer. I like winter to, spring's pretty good and autumn is wonderful. Oh heck - maybe there's something in all that. Otherwise, see you when the skies darken and the first snows of winter drift down over Ontario. Probably before actually. I hope so anyway.

Concentrate on responding then. Just to keep your presence here noticable if nothing else.
I know that a lot of discussions are not going to float your boat - but that's when it gets interesting. You have to really think, not just write off the cuff. And when you have to give it some thought - it's really quite amazing what goes through your mind and before you know it, instead of responding, you're posting a new discussion.
Just a thought.
Otherwise take some time to work on your blogs.
I haven't had an alert from them in some time.*pout*

Well we can't have your brain freezing P1ke.
Keep a notebook handy and jot things down as they occur to you and just relax for awhile.

The harder I think the more my mind freezes though. My best posts have all been spur of the moments - as have been my best responses. I do need to get back on the blog though. I have been outclassed on the Dark Side, so I shall get on with my day to day stuff and stop the story writing. I don't have the heart or ability for it right now.

Things come and go here all too often. Like the blank mind and or dry well. I have been burned out many a times here as well. Today is that way. All I am doing today is rsponding to discussions even though I have many ideas and photos for discussions. I just don't feel like starting any today. There have been days where I log in and check my email and just log off saying, not today. That's how burnt out I have been in the past. It 'll be back for you soon I am sure. Have a great day/evening.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Take your time, p1ke..
We all do have those "blank" moments here, but let them take you down. You can always share your inputs by responding on other posts, visit some of your your friend's profile and get to know them more (just like what our good friend, Spark suggested!).
You always provide the community with humorous and well-thought discussions, we'll wait for that time to get your groove back again.

Thank you Raijin. This sounds silly, but I have visited my friends profiles but I don't really know what to do there. I don't have any witty pictures to leave and wouldn't know how to anyway. I can post, and upload photos, but everything else goes right over my head. Maybe what I ought to do is go and learn how to do some of that stuff. Watch your profile - if some half baked twerp leaves a completely non-sensical comment - I'm probably the culprit!!

I feel the same way quite often. Coming up with something new and different is really quite difficult considering the number of discussions that have been posted before us. I'm sure it won't take you long though to get back on top of your game. I have every faith in you.

It seems that right now I'm in the same boat. I have an idea for one but that's about it. Sigh...I'm sure I'll come up with something or something will happen that the mylot world will want to hear or talk about.

Well I have never known you lost for words or discussions but I must admit sometimes I struggle to think of some new ideas so will just respond to as many as I can and then suddenly I get some inspiration. What about one re Lewis and his win today, what about asking about how feel people about a night race etc. What about getting annoyed over the fact that some one has chipped away part of Stonehenge as a momento. I'm brainstorming here as I am not posting until I've played catch up on responding LOL so haven't had too many thoughts today. I am sure you will think of something funny to share with us all. Ellie :D

Hi I am so pleased that you knew who had one. What time is it on as I missed it too as was travelling back from Surrey just caught the end as I arrived back. Yes I had a lovely evening last night and ready again for work tomorrow as I don't get the Bank holiday off. Try the Singapore one again as I have never seen it so must be before my time here or you would have had at least 1 point rather than 0 points eh! Something will definately trigger a flurry of excited discussion from you at some stage soon I am sure. You enjoy the rest of your weekend too. Ellie :D

I didn't see the race today as I was taking my parents off on their holidays. A riverboat in the rain. Hope the bar is good! I was waiting to watch the re-run tonight. I did hear the result though. I had thought about doing one about Singapore, but I did one before that is on my "null points" list. LOL. I shall come up with one sooner or later. Like most things if you try hard to think of something, it doesn't. But some random thought will penetrate the old grey matter sooner or later. I hope!! Thanks Ellie. Hope you're having a good weekend.

Oh, p1key, I will miss your wisdom and kindness. But, the well isn't really dry. You just need a little new and some variety, maybe.
We will always love you regardless.

Pike, thats always the way it is with me too, I have to have some sort of inspiration to post a discussion of my own. I have gone weeks before starting one myself. Instead I spend my time responding to you all. Catching up the few discussions of my own that I have let fall temporarily to the way side. The block eventually gives way to some happy or rant that must be put to mylotters. Never fear yours will do the same.

I'm in the same boat, and I'm a newbie compared to you. But, what I do is kind of look around and see if anything brings a thought to mind, or look at the calendar or listen to the news or read something on line that makes me thing of a question, etc. Maybe even going through the list of unanswered discussions might bring a thought to mind. But, if it's been a while since your first questions on MyLot, I wonder if you could recycle them for the newer crowd? What do you think?

Mine, too! Then, after three months, I begged (literally - LOL). It worked!! ROFL I'll try not to do that again - not good form, but darn it - there were others asking the same darned things and getting answers. LOL Good luck.
Oh, that site mentioned by the other person for ideas? I did go there and, believe it or not, it did trigger an idea for me, even if it didn't come from there.

LOL! I would give kudos to the people who constantly day in day out come up with witty, interesting discussions. I prefer to respond and I only start one if a good idea occurs to me. I don't think this is bad, I think that ideas cycle and we can't all have lots of good ideas at the same time.
