Where do you keep your shoes?

Do you keep your shoes under the bed? In the closet? In a box? Most times I keep my shoes in the closet. I've tried keeping them under the bed, but the cat gets them and plays with them. The cat has ruined more than one pair of good shoes that way. Has that ever happened to you? And, now that I have a kid, she wants to play with my shoes as well. So, I keep them safely tucked away out of sight until I need them. Sometimes I keep my flip flops on the porch for walking around in the yard. Where do you keep your shoes? Do you leave a pair of shoes on the back porch specifically meant for outdoor use.

I have a ridiculous amount of shoes, so I had to devise an organization strategy. We are living in an apartment while our house is being built, so I went from having enough space for everything, to having literally no space. On top of that, I am a buyer for a major department store, and I buy shoes, meaning I decide what shoes will be available to purchase long before they ever hit the stores. So I have 300 pairs of shoes, not including the 50(approx.) pairs of flip flops. This is my savior: http://www.target.com/10-Pocket-Hanging-Shoe/dp/B0006ZPBGW/sr=1-10/qid=1211761109/ref=sr_1_10/602-9734023-3803851?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Ashoe%20organization&page=1 (wow thats a long webpage...gotta love target) I have probably 15 of these, 10 or 11 in use, and a few more still wrapped just in case. In my apartment, I divide them up by type and have them all over the apt. Flip-Flops: I keep them in a storage container(the one they got moved in), opened, on the floor of the hall closet. Winter shoes/closed toe heels/boots: In the hall closet in the shoe cubby things. I also have one of the sweater size racks like the shoes filled with beach towels and I rotate what's in front based on the season. Year Round shoes/work heels: One whole side of my closet is filled with the cubby things and stocked full of shoes.(I had to have the maintenance people make sure it would hold 150lbs of shoes, you should have seen their face when they saw I wasn't kidding : ) ) Slippers: in an under the bed storage thingy that I leave open for easy access. I think that's about all of them. I also keep one pair of flip flops out by the door in case I need to run to the car for something.

I keep my shoes in various places in my room. My slippers are under my computer desk, and my flipflops are beside my bed. My shoes are in the dining room I think, by the front door. All my other shoes are in my closet. Away from people because my mom has a thing for wearing my shoes, and wearing them without socks. And it's gross

I usually keep my shoes on the shoe rack. Fortunately there's no kids or pets in my house so I do not face any problem with them.

We keep our shoes on the left side of our stairs going up the second floor, thats our everyday shoes. Special shoes we put in box and put into a cabinet intended for shoes near the cabinet for books. I do have lots of shoes and I want to give it up but I like also changing shoes. I like shoes. And we dont have cats to play and bite it.

For the past 20 years, I've left my shoes on the stairs. You know, going up then a short flat surface then goes up towards the right. It's pretty convenient. When I need to go out, on the way down, I just slip in to my footwear and go on.

My shoes are actually kept in the kitchen. They're underneath a table that no one ever uses unless we have a lot of company over which doesn't happen very often anymore. They're out of the way there, they don't track anything through the rest of the house and no one trips over them.

I have shoes in a lot of different places. Most of them are in the closet in the spare room. The two pairs of shoes that I wear most often, along with the sandals that I wear if I'm just going out to get the paper or the mail, are all kept somewhere in the vicinity of the door. I say vicinity, because even though I take them off there, sometimes my son will put them on and take them off several feet from where I put them. I really prefer keeping them right by the door, though.

That's too precious! My "baby" does the same thing too. Mommy's shoes are her second favorite toy, after her Cabbage Patch doll and kitten. So, I guess that would be third favorite. Though the first two are running in a tie! Thanks for dropping by.

I keep my shoes under the bed as usual with socks in it. We wear chappals (sleepers) in home. Yes, my kids start playing my shoes when I put them off. I dont take any special measure for it. Only things we do it take it from kids when we see it. On next day morning I usually dont get them back on place where I put them off. They are always shifted , not because of cat but because of kids and other people who also put off their shoes under bed in common room and pushes my shoes more deep inside. Next day I have to use some stick or something like that to bring them ot.

That happens to me, all the time! I can't tell you how many times I've gone on my own fishing expedition.

The shoes i don't wear today, i would put them in the closet, for those i would wear soon, like tomorrow, i would put them on the floor near the door. I don't have pet, so i don't worry about the shoes.

I like to keep my shoes in the closet. Although the ones I wear almost every day are by the door. I only have two pairs that I wear all the time the other ones get worn a few times a year. I need my shoes to be comfortable.

I mainly keep mine in a closet, however the pair that I wear all the time I usually leave by the door since I put them on so often. Sometimes a pile of mine and my son's shoes starts to form in front of the door... That's when I put them all in the closet.

We have several shoe cabinets by the door so we leave all our footwear there. Sometimes we leave the regularly used ones outside too - just on the floor next to the cabinets. Cheers!

My shoes have always been kept in the closet. About two years ago when my boyfriend moved in he began putting his shoes in my closet too. The problem was this was never a neat and organized kind of thing, just thrown on the floor in the closet. Whenever I was looking for a specific pair of shoes I now had to fight with about ten pairs of size 16's to find my pairs of size 6's. lol! Since then I bought an over the door shoe rack and I put the shoes that I wear most often in it to avoid the fight.

I used to have one of those too, before I moved and then it got lost in my stuff and now I think it's outside in the storage shed. I'm not going anywhere near that place. Spiders! Yuck! Anyway, I love my over the door shoe rack. It's about all I have room for. I got one, too that you hang up in the closet. It's real cool. I don't know where it is either. THanks for stopping by. I loved your story! I hope your bf appreciates the effort you're going through to "blend" your lives. So, cute. Drop by anytime.

That must be a mess! I will have to take your advice about the dresser. I have a real small end table in my bedroom and it's just high enough off the ground to store a couple casual pairs of shoes. I'm a real "everything in it's place" person. We have something wonderful in common! Thanks for making the conversation great. Drop by anytime.
