My daughter's printer just died. I'm looking for a printer that prints color, but does not need to be photo quality.
The big thing is that I want the ink refills to be reasonable. Also, I would prefer one that doesn't need a print head that needs to be replaced.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks.

I have an Epson printer that I use. It is a color printer also. I just bought all of my ink, including shipping, for less than $15.00 altogether. I ordered it online and had it within a few days. I ordered the ink from a place that sells remanufactured printer ink cartidges and it works very well in my printer. I have had my printer for about 8 years now and it still works great and it was very reasonable when i first bought it.

Does it have a print head? That is what I am trying to get away from.
Thanks for the response.

Walmart usually has them pretty cheap. I have a hp, but it is a photo printer. The ink is crazy high. It is better if you can figure out how to refill them your self. I couldn't figure it out.

I have an hp printer hooked up to my computer. The ink is costly, that is why I don't let her use it.
She had a cannon that worked great but now to replace print head, which is hard to find, it is $45. I can only find it on one site, which naturally I have never heard of. I have checked all the big office supply companies but they don't make it anymore.
I just tried emailing cannon to see how much it would cost. I know I can get a brand new printer for $50 so I am anxious to see what they come up with.

You have certainly got your priorities right because many people buy a printer and then find that it is expensive to operate and rarely use it.
My choice has always been Epson, for the simple reason that compatable cartridges of good quality are easy to find and very cheap. Of course I live in the United Kingdom and it may be different in the United States, so I suggest that you check the local computer fairs to see which printer cartridges are more common. It is certainly worth the trouble to find out before buying a printer.
