Her father gave it to her.
It brings a tear to my eye just writing this.
He told her it was a reminder that there will never be a more honest love than that of a daddy for his daughter.
Someone told me today that they had heard of a divorce ring before. Have you??

Yes, I have heard fo them. They are really neat. I read an article in the paper about them about a month or so ago. Apparently a divorced woman had the idea when she took her wedding ring to be re-worked. They are really cool looking.

Ohhhh, re-working the ring. That is a good idea.
It was not the case for my friend. At least I don't think so, I'll have to ask.

The article said that is where the lady got the idea from. Now you can walk into any jeweler and just buy a divorce ring.

Hi makingpots! I have never heard of a divorce ring before. However, that is a very kind and loving gesture by your friend's father. It would really touch any daughter's heart if she would receive such a ring from her father. Your friend is blessed to have a father like that.
Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting!

I have never heard of a divorce ring, but I have attended a "divorce party". It was a great night - started with all women (some that had been divorced, some single, some married & the host that had just been divorced) at the hosts house & by the end of the night we were dancing and laughing in a nightclub!

Hi, toosh.
I have watched one of those party planner shows where they planned a divorce party. That is kind of a healthy way to move on, IMO.

No I have not heard of one before that is a strange thing to have to be honest
But I think her Dad was a bit wrong to say that to her though as there will be someone for her that will love her for who she is
I found mine after my Divorce and I could not ask for better

I think he was just a Daddy, desparate to do something meaningful for his hurting daughter.

I have never heard of a divorce ring before. This is the 1st. That's why I love this discussion site, you learn something new everyday. But that is very interesting that her dad give her that and once I thought about it I kind of understand what he's saying(meaning)
Thank you for sharing this discussion because I would've know anything about a divorce. Only a plain simple divorce.

No, this is a new concept to me....
Did he give it to her because she was getting married?
Hard concept for me to grasp...Beautiful in a way but my Dad never did that for me.....

WOW! That was a really nice thing for her Father to do! Does she wear it on her wedding finger? Just curious as again I have never heard of this!

It is a beautiful diamond channel band. He gave it to her the day her divorce became final. This was a very difficult divorce for her.
I think he wanted to replace this day that is sure to be one of the worst of her life, with a sweet memory. A memory of someone who loves her very much doing something loving for her.

I have heard of a divorce ring...never being given by the father but I don't see why not. I kind of wish it had been an option for me a I missed having a ring on my finger...but that feeling came long before the divorce because I'd lost my wedding ring and we hadn't had the money to replace it. Kind of sad all around.

I have never heard of such a thing before honey! I have to say when I read the title of this post I was quite cynical but when I read the rest I was so touched! What a wonderful thing for your friends father to do and how emotional that must have been! xxx

He father knew exactly what it would mean to her (no surprise) and it has been a beautiful thing to witness. It truly seemed to pull her through the darkness somehow.
As much as we all who love her have wanted to pull her through this, it took a daddy's love to do it. Very fitting.

I have not heard of this, but the love of the father for his daughter is obvious in his gesture. What a lovely thing to do.
I can guarantee that my soon to be ex will be getting a divorce ring ---------- right through his nose! LOL
