What is the name of your dog? Any particular reason why you chose that name?

Atticus, from "To Kill a Mockingbird." Its my favorite book, so I thought it would be fitting to name my dog after one of the characters. I also used to have a beagle which I named Squeak, because she made noises like a squeaky-toy when she was a small puppy. :D

My dog's name is Sugar Cane and the story behind her name is this. She showed up in our neighborhood two weeks before Christmas, two years ago and decided that she wanted to be our dog. She hung around for an entire day and by that evening I felt sorry for her and told my daughter that she could bring her inside but that she had to give her a bath since she looked dirty. She was dark brown when she went into my daughter's bathroom and light brown when she came out. We live in south Florida and there are sugar cane fields nearby that had recently been burned so we guessed that she had been in those fields and that's how she got so dirty. Sugar Cane seemed to fit plus she's as sweet as sugar cane, too.

My dogs name is Beau spelled like the persons name. I'm not sure why I picked it. it just seemed to suit him. I also call him baby and beauseph. and of course good dog and ocassionally bad dog. like when he takes my socks in the yard.

Yeah we all seem to have nicknames for our dogs. We call ours honeybun, honeybunny, brat, spoiled brat....Depends on her mood. Maybe the full moon has something to do with it! Ha. Thanks for your post.

Great idea. I had never thought of using an event as a name. Very clever.

I have a couple of pets Dolce-Siamese cat I got Dolce with her sister from a rescue, and now one of my friends has the other cat. Since we both work in fashion, Dolce & Gabbana. My parents always had Siamese cats and they all had names from spices(Sugar, Spice, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cardamom), so I wanted to do the same thing. Tally-Welsh Corgi We ride horses, and Tally Ho is a phrase that is used in foxhunting. Tally's show name is Keswick's Tally Ho, although he is too fat now to show. :) Speakeasy-Quarter Horse Affiliate Speakeasy got his name because when he was in his stall he would get bored and sort of speak by murmuring to himself. Sydney-I was obsessed with Australia for a while, because my name is Adelaide. One day I will get there, until then, I will just name horses after Australian cities. Justy-This is the name he came with, and for some reason we jsut never changed it. I rode him as a school horse(in lessons) when I was a child and we got him much later, so I had known his name as this for at least 5 years before we got him, so that's what it stayed. Mr. Pibb-By far the coolest pony ever. This was my first pony and will never been replaced. He came with the name Mr. Pibb, which coincidentally I hate, but I couldn't just rename a legend. Since I already know the names of the dogs we will be getting, I'll add those as well. I will be getting 2 Huskies, named Thor and Loki(I was born in Norway, so we may have a whole herd with Norse names if I have anything to do with it)

Ok so you are beyond creative with pet names! Sounds like you are a huge animal lover. Good luck with Thor and Loki when you get them.

Our dog was named Cassandra. It was taken from a Mexican drama which my mother would not fail to watch everyday. Cassandra is the name of the lead actress and also the title of the drama.

Is the show still on tv? How appropriate that she named the dog after something that was special to her. Thanks for the comment.

I don't have a dog but my girlfriend does. His name is Franses. He was name after the subdivision where he came from. Actually, the subdivision's name is Prences. They made a little fix to make it fit for a male.

My father have one dog when I still young, name Blackie. Giving him this name cause he is very black (black in color). After we move to apartment, he is adopted by my uncle. Kill by heartless Malay (A race that hate dog, cause of their hate-animal culture), by giving him poisonous food. Now having two dogs, name Yuki and Rocky. "Yuki" is given by my mother, and "Rocky" is given by my sister.
