washing white linen,clothes...

White linens are very neat but they get soiled easily. What I usually do when I wash my dirty white linens or clothes is that I soak them in powdered detergent overnight to loosen dirt before I wash them. When I'm not yet satisfied with the whiteness and the smell, I bleach them in sunlight or use liquid bleach. Then I rinse them well and put a little fabric softener on my last rinse.

I use a special detergent...it's not like Tide or anything. It has the incredible ability to whiten the clothes so much that they just sparkle. Unfortunately it's very hard on dark clothes so have to use something different for the darks.

I still remembered when my siblings and I were in primary school. Our uniforms were while shirt and black skirt for girls whereas dark blue shorts for my brothers. My mother didn’t like our white shirts looked yellowish so she added some washing soda, its chemical name was sodium carbonate into the pail of hot water with laundry powder and then dumped the white shirts into it and soaked for quite some time. It really worked and our white shirt looked shinning white. But I use only normal laundry powder as we rarely wear white clothes now. I am sure there are lots of laundry detergent in the market, for bleaching purposes to make the white clothes look shinning white.

i dont wash any clothes its my wife who do the washing, but i had seen her put some detergent on it,powdery one

I usually soak my white stuff overnight in some soap powder and a bit of bleach and wash it the next morning. It usually gets cleaned up real nice. I don't use any special detergent, I use the same one as I do with coloured clothing. I just don't put bleach on the coloured clothes! I usually bundle up all my white clothing to wash at the same time as well...makes it easier
