I don't think I have ever gotten.......

Iv'e gotten one once and an email to gradulate me on the best response. It was nice to be marked. You keep choosing them it makes a person feel special and you too will be picked! :)

Nice that you give out often, I just forget it and it's hard to choose "best response" in my opinion! /Degger

I think I have had one once or twice. Like you I wait until a discussion has run it's course before I go to it and mark which I think is the best response - usually based on the best advice or most humorous. I think it is a disservice to those who have taken the time to reply to a discussion I have started not to bother to go back and award the best response it only takes a moment after all.

I've gotten a few of those. I haven't given much yet though because I'd usually get very few responses on my discussions. I'm still waiting for others to come in which might be better. I'd usually wait for about three to five days before I decide to select a best response. But for some of my discussions that I really need much information, I would extend it so as to get some more ideas. Because some people they tend to lost the interest to respond if they see that a best response have been selected.
