I have never heard of anything like this before. I thought that water was the best thing that anyone could consume. But according to an NBC news article. Water can be harmful to children six months and younger. Did you know this?

That seems pretty crazy to me. I know I never gave my kids a lot of water, but there were times I would let them have it. I guess maybe there are some mothers who are giving them too much water?
There is water in formula also...
very strange!

Yes I had heard that before but I wasn't sure what age it was until. That why it is so important if you are giving formula to mix it right. It is ok to give them a little bit of water ... like a mouthful or two after a bottle to clean out the left over formula that may remain in the babies mouth and cause thrush.

I did hear that same article and was really dumbfounded because my son just turned 6 months old and at some time or another I have given him an ounce or so of water to help him either digest his food, or keep him cool in hot weather. I never gave him a lot and I generally don't give him a lot of water anyway since I nurse him, but I just had never heard that before. I wonder if it's the type of water - like tap water as opposed to baby water.
