History Changing Movies

What movies, if any, do you think changed the shape of the movie industry? What movies do you think changed the direction that the movie industry was heading in? Or just plain upped the ante for movie makers everywhere?
This goes for Hollywood, Bollywood and every far flung country on the planet that produces movies that have reached a wide international market.

Hi Shard ! there are loads !! A hollywood blockbuster that shaped the industry was the Matrix, not for content althought the sfx where new, but it changed the way films are co-ordinated.they filmed scenes for the second film in the middle of the first film. Guess who's coming to dinner challenged inequality, waking life actually challenged the viewer with esoteric concepts. The original King Kong was the precursor to massive blockbusters.
