When you hear a band/singer, or like a band/singer for a long time, and you imagine they are probably really good looking based on their voice, but when you finally see a picture of them... they are so not what you expected at all and instead quite fuggles?

Do you like the music or do you like the look? because if you care more about the look you should probably watch the milan, paris new york catwalks. If you are listening music you don't even need to see them!!!

Of course I like the music! I am just saying I get a visual in my mind of singers... and then sometimes if I get around to seeing a picture of them the visual doesn't fit. I don't listen to music because the singer is attractive.. I wouldn't like very much music that way.

No I dont. I mean Im not like that. In fact I find them blessed because they have great voices powerful enough to reach into my core, inspire me, and amuses me especially if I learn the lyrics and its meaning.

Patti Smith - Patti ain't cute.
Good one! I am not very attracted to the lead singer from Nickelback. And Mick Jagger. Yuck-he did not age well. Even worse is his cohort, Keith Richards. Back in the day I used to love Patti Smith ("Dancing Barefoot", "Because the Night"), but Patti tops my list of homliest singers.

I honestly don't know what 98% of the artists/bands I listen to look like. Probably because I'm not really concerned about looks. I like the music and the one's that make it are creative. Other than that, I don't care. I'll support them by purchasing their stuff, but I'm not worried if someone's a blond or has a receding hairline. It doesn't matter people, just listen!

Way back in the day (my day) my babysister was crazy about the group KISS. I had only heard one song by them "Beth" i think was the name of it. It was so beautiful, i loved it . When i came home for christmas that year and saw the posters on her bedroom wall i couldnt believe they could possibly be the ones singing that beautiful song ( i never thought about it the same way). So after that when i hear a song that i think is beautiful i don't go out of my way to see what whoever is singing it looks like.

Well this has happened quite a few times to me also. I guess it has to do with the way we perceive beauty. As humans we assume a beautiful voice correlates to a physically attractive individual producing that voice. Not always is this the case. Quite often like you described when one is presented the image of the singer dissapointment arises but let's admit it. This happens quite often and many remarkable artists do fall under this category.
