This popular British gameshow started its broadcast in the early 90's with host Richard o'Brien(S1-S4)and later, by Edward-Tudor Pole(S5-S6).The task of the two is to guide a group of contestants as they travel through timed zones in the entire maze.There are four zones namely: AZTEC- an ancient village of the Aztec tribes with ziggurats,totem poles and religious carvings of their Gods and dieties. FUTURISTIC- a space station equipped with electronics and MEDIEVAL - a middle-age castle setting with stone carvings and wooden timbers. INDUSTRIAL(Seasons 1-3)- a wasteland with empty oil barrels,secured fences and metal doors. OCEAN(Seasons 4-6)- a cruise ship called the SS Atlantis. A game in the maze are categorized as physical,mental skill and a mystery and takes about 2-3 minutes to play.After succesfully playing a game,a contestant earns a crystal.A crystal earned is worth five seconds of time in the Crystal Dome.Else,they have to come out of the playing cell before the clock hits zero in order not to get locked-in.In order to free a locked-in contestant,the team must surrender a crystal to buy the prisoner out. After travelling the four timed zones of the maze,the team will be directed to the Crystal Dome,the heart of the maze.The team have to collect as many gold tokens as they can through the time based on the number of crystals they have.Any silver tokens collected will be deducted to the number of gold tokens collected.They must have a total of a hundred in order to win the big prize.
