I know people who have. I'm glad I have not done this. Considering the high gas prices its probably even more likely to happen now.

I do not have a car, but my bike usually runs out of fuel in the middle of a journey. Its completely unpredictable. It works on its own accord. There have been many times when I had had to push it to the gas station. Well, thats an experience and I have learnt to have some fuel in the vehicle always, so that even if I run out, I wouldn't have to push it.

Actually I never run with a full tank. I just fill how much ever I want for the work and then move out. You See I'm a driving freak and I'm not earning yet and If I have a full tank, I might just drive out on the road without reason. So sometimes if I move out of my path any day, I have to always worry about fuel..

I hate to even answer this discussion! When I first started driving big trucks, I was down in California and was a bit late for a delivery. I knew that I was getting low on fuel, I saw the truck stop and knew that I was really close to the delivery so decided to go ahead and go to the delivery and then back to the TS to get fuel. I judged it wrong. I ran out of fuel in one lane construction at about 7:30 in the morning on a fairly busy road to the warehouse that I was to deliver to! I was so embarrassed, it cost me $150. for 15 gallons of diesel and a very valuable lesson!

I have never run out of gas,in the time I have been driving, but one time I was driving my Honda in the next county over, and my friend was riding with me and we were near the mall, when the car just decided to die,it kind of scared me because of all the traffic around, but a cop stopped and helped me and my friend push it off to the side of the road.

Of course I did. It happened few years ago when I have my own car. Due to inexperience and forget to check the gas level, it dried out and stuck at the busy traffic!!! The experience was scary as the cars behind me keep horn at me. Thankfully, my friends helped me to move the car to sideway!!!
