Have you read the Bible all the way through?

I haven't. I have read many chapters in each testament, but I have never read the whole thing. So this week I have committed to reading the entire book. I also intend to mark passages as I go so that I can ask about them if I don't understand or so I can refer back to them when it applies to my life.

Yes I have read the Bible through quite a few times. I have found if you mark passages color coded, for example, when I read a good book with Scripture references, I will mark all of them in a certain color and I know they all deal with the topic of that book. If I do a Bible Study, I color code it and I those color verses is dealing with that subject. I also make little notes beside verses if they reveal a special something to me. I will be glad to explain more in depth if you are interested in how I mark my Bible. Keep up the great work! You can do it and the reward will be GREAT!

I am happy with anything that makes reading the word easier. I agree that the reward is imcomparable with any other.

I have dial up, so the streaming wouldn't allow for me to hear it.

I haven't read the whole bible, but I should. IMO. I feel you have a very good plan on marking scriptures or writing things down for a later date. I tend to get off track of reading it all the way through by reading that applies to my life or seeking for answers. Maybe if I was to write downs things or mark scriptures I could stay on track. Thank you!

I just know for me, that when I read it, I get confused and the words start swimming after awhile. Here is something that I find interesting. People believe Adam and Eve to be the first, but if you read in Genesis 1:27, it states where he created man in his own image. However it doesn't say a word about creating Adam from dust until 2:7. So I wonder if they really were the first or if that was strictly talking about Adam then. However, the beginning of Chapter 2, talks about after the 7th day of resting. It has me thinking....

I do believe Adam is the 1st man. Through out the bible it refers to the 1st Adam and then Jesus the 2nd Adam. If I have problems understanding things in the Bible, I pray and ask God to give me understanding. I also research or ask if I want to know something in the Bible bad enough. I am not one to agrue over issues in the Bible and I feel that are somethings we may never know the complete story until we go to heaven.

Like I said, I haven't read through the whole thing yet, so when I came across that, it confused me and got my wheels turning. I have a million questions that will have to wait until the hereafter to get answered.

I can not tell you how many times I have read it through. But usually I get to distracted with subjects and go search away after allusive verses.

Hey! How are you? It's great to know you are still around. I'll send you a message in awhile. I read it through so far then life gets me and I forget to go back.

No, I haven't. I probably read no more than a third at most. But then again, I am not a Christian. No harm finishing the book, some parts are quite interesting.

I have....I have a bible that I read, and its a study bible, it helps you to read the bible thru in a year. It has Chapters to read everyday of the week, one from the OT, NT and a Psalms and Proverbs. I like it, it tells me what to read everyday. I also mark passages, and I refer to them when I need to.

I used to have the Women's Devotional Bible, but I think it got left in Ohio when I moved. Makes me sad, but now I read the family Bible and it makes me feel closer to my grandma. So that works for me.

I have read through the Bible several times, but find taking my time to slow down and study those passages immediately more fulfilling. I use several books to look up the true meanings of the words, and see the scripture as it was originally written. It's amazing what is lost in translation at times. I also do Precept Bible studies to help learn the Word in a real way.

I too read all sorts of stuff to cross reference the Bible so that I can get what is being said. And I think you are right, I think a good many things got lost in translation.

Yep I certainly have read it cover to cover and more than once actually but it was a long time ago....I have picked it up since then though and re-read certain parts when discussing things with my kids or a friend etc etc but thats rare too.

I find it is hard to stay focused on it. The wording really makes you think.

I have, but not recently. I accepted the Lord as my Savior at the young age of 7 and received my first Bible then. Between then and graduating high school, I read the entire Bible through 3 times. (I didn't always understand, but I kept reading.) Since then, I have read it through again twice.
