I was so hoping that today was going to be just perfect. It was my son's second birthday. I booked tickets for a zoo awhile back now, hoping that the weather would be good. As you can guess it was raining when we got up this morning. We decided to go as planned. But when we got there it started blowing a gale and the rain come down even harder we got soaked through to the skin. My two year old refused to have the rain cover down on the buggy. Then my poor daughter nearly got blown away and the umbrella broke that she was holding. By this time we had had enough and we decided to make our way home. We all piled into the car and my partner went to start it and nothing happen.
He asked someone to jump start it but this did not work either.
So in the end we had to call the breakdown service out. After an hour and half wait they turned up but also could not get the car started. I have to give my three children their due they all waited patiently and were quite well behaved even tho they were cold and fed up. So we all piled into his break down truck and he put the car on the back and brought us home.
As i sit here writing this, we are waiting for someone to come out and fix the car as my partner is suppose to be getting a boat to Ireland in the morning.
We are not even sure if he is going to make it.
And i am feeling guilty now as i just wanted my son to have a perfect day.
So this has to be the worst day of my year so far.
So whats been your worst day so far?

My worst day so far this year doesn't even come close to what you went through. I am glad the kids were good for you. Hopefully nobody gets sick from all the cold and wet. Wow! I'm sorry your son's day went so bad and yours. At least you got some cake out of the deal. Did you even get to see any of the Animals?

PS: Thanks for the add.

I'm sorry littleone. I really can't remember the worst day from all of the ones that I've had. It sucks that the weather had to turn ugly on your son's birthday. But I hope that you are able to do something else. And your children are little angels for being so quite during all of that. I wish you the best and cheer up. ^_^

Oh littleone3,
I am so sorry to hear that your day was ruined, but make something good out of it at least you all were together and no one is hurt. Make a birthday cake at home get some ice cream or pop some pocorn and pile in front of a good movie and have family time. Enjoy the rest of what can be salvaged. Don't let the devil get his joy. Stomp on him...

How miserable for you all. The weather certainly has been atrocious. My daughter is near you in Hatfield and was due to go to Thorpe Park today. They're going tomorrow instead. As for my worst day? Probably in the Lake District about 25 years ago. We were staying in a climbing hut with no door and the snow just piled in and covered our boots that had been drying by the fire (not a sensible place to dry walking boots really). Then we drove over a steep pass and the car's brakes failed as we came down the other side of the mountain. Then we had to get to Lancaster to get the brakes replaced. I had to drive at about 10 miles an hour. Never was I more pleased to spend £50 as I was that day. LOL

Hence, my fear of making any kind of plans. Something is liable to go wrong. Your kids probably still found some entertainment value in the day even though you are overly aggravated. Kids find it fun just to be out in the rain. One day you will look back and laugh at the whole day. Hope you took pics :) One Halloween I took my son, about the same age, to the zoo. While there, my mom called and told me that someone had totalled her van while it was parked in a parking space, and ran. Maybe she should have come to the zoo with us :) Thank God she wasn't in the van.

Someone was looking after your mum that day. Glad she wasn't hurt. Yes we did get a few photos so we have something to remind us of the day.

wow! truly a bad day for the wonderful plan, but those are the things that we have no control with so I know if you will just let him understand it, he will...I have experienced a lot of trials and challenges in life and I learn to consider them as blessings..LOL, since it always make me widen my patience and I know everything happen with wonderful reasons even if it is sometimes against to our will and to what we really plan!

They do say that these things are sent to try us. I also believe that every thing happens for a reason.

Last Tuesday was myworst day. I woke up and half of
my abdomen was hideously broken out. i thought was
from the two antibiotics that Dr,Schrieman had prescribed
the day before for what he thought was diverticulitis.
I called the doctors office and they told me to go
to the emergency room. so okay I go there, and do the paper work and all the whileI am in immense pain, and thinking
it is my diverticulitis.well after a long wait the er
doctor comes in and asks me questions and then looks
at my broken out abdomen. He says I have good news and bad news.
you do not have diverticulitis, you have shingles.
oh joy. so now i have to use my last money to take a cab back to Larwind Square to get a prescription filled for my shingles. I
am in pain and starving as it was nearly noon when I got
to the er.so I get the Valtrex and stop in a cafe to get
something to eat. then ask them to call a car. and wait for
amost an hour. now all the time I am feeling really bad.
I finally do get home and have to take some tylenol for
the pain. the worst of the worst days.
