What do you think makes a great book club?

I'm looking at joining a book club -- and two different book clubs interest me. I've never belonged to a book club. I read a lot of different types of books.
What do you think makes a great book club? What would make you want to join? What book clubs have you belonged to that have been a lot of fun? :)

I think A good book club you should beable to speak your mind about the book with being criticized! But what do I know really I have never even been in a book club but that would be one of the things I looked for if I was ever to join one!

Hope I did not mess up I hit the back botton. sorry if I posted 2 times but just incase you did not get the first response. But My ideal of a good book club is one that you would be able to speak your mind on the book without being criticized about your opion. but reall what do I know I have never even been in a book club. but that would be one of the things I would look for.

I like books and I always go to bookstores for them. Sometimes I see something in a magazine where they say joining a book club will allow you to buy books at really low prices. I have only tried once and once I got my books I did not think about it anymore.
