You could always report your pet stolen. Then legally they'd have to give the dog back because he would be stolen property.

Allie, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I find that having a pet gives so much purpose to my life. I depend on my dog for companionship and direction. Maybe I put to much into my need for his companionship since I seem to fail at relationships. Do you and your roomie still live together? It sounds like your roomie's mom over stepped her boundaries. Maybe you should wait to get another pet until you get a place by yourself. I know that sounds harsh but if you had to leave your place and leave your dog there overnight, then maybe now isn't a good time to have a pet.
