To many mainstream sports followers cricket is a sport that is not followed as much as sports like football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. Cricket just takes too long and the perception is that there are many breaks involved, but the actuality is that the ICC is trying to make cricket a more fan friendly sport by shortening the length of the matches to approximately 3 or 4 hours such as a football or basketball game. The new development is called 20/20. It is a much faster and more exciting paced cricket than the traditional test matches and one day internationals. If the ICC countinues to try to push this into a more common occurance of playing these 20-20 matches then in my estimation we may finally have the fans in the United States follow this sport a little more regularly and maybe exposed enough to the point where it is a much more played and televised sport in the states.....what do you think??? would cricket survive in the United States?
