I'll admitt it I'm a alchoholic. I've fought this stupid disease since highschool. Of course I have periods of sobreity, but I've not been the best eh last few months! I miss my old self. I'm not a bad person. I just forgot again what it was like to be sober. And enjoy everyday.I will be in the process once again of becoming sober and learning again how to leave with everyday as it comes. This morning I'm not sure what I feel but it doesnt feel very great. Today is a new day and i can change my future. Sorry for yakking. Had to get it off my chest!

i wish you well on your journey to sobriety. addiction is a terrible thing and it does not mean you are a bad person by any means. it just shows that life is hard for many of us. i am a food addict and have fought it for years and i grow weary of the battle. i worry about my health but cannot seem to win the battle. it is good to get things off your chest because i think holding them in is what drives us to our addictions in the first place. my best to you.

i was in an online support group once but i found it very counterproductive because many people there who were succeeding felt the need to put those of us who were not doing well down. i did not go there to be scolded if i cheated on occasion so eventually i just left. i do need help but cannot afford any so i am on my own.

Oh really. I am sorry to hear that but I am also glad that you realise it also. I like to drink but i know when and when not to do it and when I have had enough of it. I know how it is to drink alot. I used to do it alot also after getting out of school. I would drink to get drunk. I still drink but I do not drink to get drunk. I only drink at home now also instead of going out to bars. there is no need for you to be sorry for telling us about it. We are hear for you any time you need to get something off of your chest.

Hi there you......... Wish I could make you feel better, really I do. I don't know if you believe in "God", or not, but He, for sure can help you out. Ask Him to help you. He's actually waiting to help you through something that you did to yourself. I struggle with things all the time, but after I talk with the Lord, first of all I feel better, then things do change in my life. Go on, give it a try. You gotta be sincere about it though, and totally put your trust in him. Good-luck to you, and I wish you happiness. Marilyn :o)

You can get sober and stay sober. My mom has 23 years of sobriety she was a very heavy drinker went thru DT's and the whole nine yards. She fell off the wagon a few times, she was just practicing to be sober. You have a will to be clean keep that hope alive. You can do this.

Stick with it sophiasmom, I have a very close family member who went through this and from an outsiders point of view it was wonderful to have her happy and healthy again. It made us much closer and she has been sober 15 years nowl

Just take it one day at a time my dear. Any type of addition brings it's toll on you and your family and friends. Realizing that you have a problem and your willingness to try to overcome it shows that you have what it takes to overcome this once and for all. We are here for you! Just one day, one hour at a time if need be, Love and prayers!

Don't worry, you can get through with it soon. When we realize that something we are doing is too much already, and could somehow ruin our life, thats the time that we would do our best in order to control, limit and even get away from those bad habits. We just have to think about our health and how we need to be really safe and sound all the times. Good luck!

I hope that one day soon you'll beat this hands down, with alot of hard work and detemination I believe you can do it. Like you said you have had periods of sobreity. To me this shows you can do it with more hard work. Feel better. Good Luck to you and all the best wishes Sophiasmom911
