Lawyers will lie. Google grounds for deportation and you will see the lawyers lying through their fangs. If you've been convicted of a gun charge after '96, misdemeanor included, your loved one is screwed! Don't waste your money on a lying lawyer!

I know just what you mean! I am engaged to a haitian immigrant and the US is trying to deport him because of a charge he got when he was only 18. Now 22 engaged and planning a family they pick him up and say he needs to leave. we got him a lawyer paid out the butt 10,000 if anyone is counting we did most of the work for her. she told us that he has a chance because of everything he has going for him. as we are walking into court she says he does not have a chance in hell of getting out of this. why didnt she tell us that 10,000 dollars ago because we could have saved that money for a move to haiti!

It is obvious that you have been lied to by a lawyer. I hope that you are able to find someone who will help you and not lie to you. I know in this world there are many kinds of unscrupulous persons. But there might be someone who has not been tainted yet.
