The Disappearing Male

I came across this rather interesting concept this afternoon, and thought of you all of course. It states that there is a decline in male's being born in relationship to females in the US and Japan. The date on the article is just over a year ago, so I must say it is old news but news to me.
Do you think at this rate, that women will rule and own the world before global warming takes us all out? What are your thoughts? How many of us agree that this might not be a bad trend to be working towards? LMAO

I am fast losing rank in this discussion interest, so lets talk about the male gender of our species being an endangered species.

Oh my, I guess that explains the reason why mylot is also dominated mostly by women. I just wish that other's folks out there won't consider me as that, or else..
I guess the food, environment and work are just a few factors that affects male birth rate and reproduction. I'm not sure about Japan, but I've seen too many nasty things on that country which were mostly not known to many..

Raijin, I don't think we women would ever let men like you die out completely :))))) But I am sure we would all like to hear what thoughts and sights you might have seen to add to this discussion.

I'm sorry to miss those questions and for taking me a long time to respond again, silly me..
Well we had experienced two women Presidents here in my country, with one currently seated in power and is currently bombarded by anomalies and/or controversies.
I wouldn't mind having women leaders, as long as they know how to lead a country and even the whole world. Just like others, my mother is also a women as well as my sister and that's were I really respect women..
Without them (women), there won't be any of us (men) here..em]wink[/em]

Women rule the world? Surely you jest! LOL I thought we already did. The woman behind the man, the throne, the seat of power and all that. Men just think they're in charge. They haven't really been since the seventies and women came out from BEHIND them to stand along side them, and often ahead of them.
Nostradamus predicted a female U.S. President in 2010.
Considering his track record of accuracy, my bets are on women stopping global warming by getting rid of the men and all the hot air they 'blow'! LOL

No worries Kamran, I will always keep you around :))))) Of that you can have faith. Although Sparks has a good point about all of the hot air being blown around.
Kamran, as much as I would love to see a woman in office here in the States, Hillary Clinton is NOT that women. Rotflmao I felt need to let you know that, I find her lying manipulative ways despicable. She is not the women I want to represent us as a gender.

Well, spark, there is no problem in a woman being U.S. President or in any other country but you are scaring me with...

Now, you know, you can tell me when you people are planning to do that so that I could arrange to save myself. After all, what friends are for?? I hope you will let me know well in time!

I remember reading somewhere that the male birthrate increases during a war. So maybe ten years from now the statistics will reverse themselves as a result of the war on terror.
I think the earth needs more feminine energy in order to heal what the masculine energy has done to nature. So maybe that is why we are having more girl babies. The feminine energy is nurturing, and the earth sure does need that!

Youdontsay, I am on the tail end of what is called the baby boomer generation. The population explosion after WW2. So in that sense you could very well be right, we will have to see what happens after the war on terror. it will be interesting to see if history repeats itself.
You are so right about our earth needing mothering and feminine energy. I like this concept.

Assuming, of course, that there IS an end to it!
Even mothers need nurturing. Mother Earth has been taking a lot of abuse for a long time. Let's love her more!

I haven't heard of this before angel I have to admit but I think it is a trend that will most likely reverse soon enough - nature is very good at keeping things balanced for us! Anyway if that keeps up all of you Americans will be coming over here stealing our men and we can't have that! xxxx

Hummmmm, now before we get carried away we must approach this from the scientific standpoint which brings to mind two things. First is a question, are men who have their gender changed still men and thus somewhat safe from this catastrophic event or no. Second, and this is my point. Looking back throughout history, many creatures which have been thought to disappear, did not but rather evolved. That is where I believe the U.S. and Japan are at at this time and possibly other countries as well. To be blunt, we are becoming Supermen and so less is needed. I know this may be hard to accept, but I will liken it to a flower blooming before your very eyes...one moment and ordinary bud not very impressive at all and the next....BAMM a genetic masterpiece.

Ok, setting joking aside some what, here is what I truly think. As of this year there were 5,132,118 more women than men in the U.S. The stats are probably similar for Japan as well though I didn't look it up. I don't think that there is any reason for alarm because I believe nature is balanced and continues to balance itself whether you want to attribute that to God, a higher power, or just mother nature. Just as there are decreases in male births in some places, there are decreases in female populations in others, specifically speaking the most densely populated country in the world where they have a one child policy and many are choosing boys, I would guess to carry on the family lineage. One news article I read shows that trend quite plainly, though heart breakingly. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5953508 So, thats my theory, nature is balancing itself.

Hi Angelwhispers,
One possible scenario suggested by the demographic trend is that males will become relatively scarce and so will become more valued and precious to the teeming hordes of females.
So we might have the evolution of a male-dominated culture characterized by harems of women striving to please their master in order to win and retain the male's favor.
Quite the opposite outcome to what one might automatically presume.

Ehh...just come to my house anytime if you have a shortage of males...I have personally created 4 of them and am helping to raise two others (the fact that the two others are almost 18 and 43 does not mean they no longer require raising lol)
In my opinion, women already rule the world...how many men would be walking around barefoot if not for us finding their socks for them in the top dresser drawer where we put them every week! Ooh and let's not even think about the multitudes going comando rather than wash their own underwear!

Actually there have always been more of us gals then men...gee, think that means we actually are the stronger s*x after all? LOL--this kind of reminds me of that real "B" movie from the 50s...the one were there were only women on this planet...and they made the male astronauts as their slaves..hehee..Anyway...I really do think our world could be a more peaceable one if we women really did dominate and rule...I mean as women leaders of govts... who would have time to plan a war, when having a bad case of PMS or menstual cramps?

Hehehe, well, I don't think that's necessarily a problem, considering the fact that one man can impregnate as many women as he can get it up for in one day, while a woman can only become impregnated by one man once a year. Looks like maybe the polygamists might not have such a bad idea. Although I never thought they did really.
As far as 'global warming' is concerned, I say phuck yea! Who needs a long, hard, cold winter? Not me.

I have heard this before Angel. Apparently they have also identified a way that women can conceive without impregnation from the male! That's quite scary. On the other hand, it feels to me that women already run the world - at least on myLot. I know my place. LOL.

The only hope is to raise sons with better sense than their fathers. I have sons and g-sons so if an all female socity comes to pass i hope it is after i'm gone, because i would definatly have to hide them to keep them safe! And although men comes up with some really stupid ideas it is the females that buys the products more often than not so they think it was a great idea and just keep coming up with more stupid ideas that make us grit our teeth and mutter about murder and mayham for even thinking such stupidity!

I definitely think that if women ruled the world it sould solve a lot of problems. I'm sure the war in iraq would end, women would be able to keep heir own names after marriage, and no one would ever have to wear burkas or submit to their husbands.

It's not surprising that females are higher in numbers than males in these countries. Technically, we don't need an equal number of males and females in any particular population. Human males are genetically programmed to be non-monogamous, which shouldn't be surprising to many of the women out there, as common as it is for men to cheat on their wives or girlfriends. From a survival standpoint, men used to impregnate many women rather than just staying with one woman. This makes it unnecessary to have an equal number of males and females. It's kind of like lions. There are many females for every one male lion because the male is impregnating several and having many babies to contribute to the pride's population. It may sound barbaric to those of us who believe in monogamy, but monogamy is a creation of civilization, not genes.
