is it possible to create a website for free?

i'm toying with this idea of creating a website. however, i'm wondering if i can create a website for free. any tips?
i also want to know really HOW would you do it, like do you need programming skills to do so? i don't know a lot of programming though. Am i still qualified to have a website?

It is possible to create a website for free. I recommended two websites which offer free website: www.freewebs.com and www.mysite.com
I have a freewebs.com account and also a mysite.com account. I like freewebs.com more than mysite.com. Freewebs offer online store, statistic, email, and website. I really think you should try Freewebs.

What kind of website do you have in mind? There are so many free webspace available with simple page construction tools, Yahoo has one, your mylot profile page is one, multiply, squidoo for blogging and so much more. There's a lot of discussions here about webpage creation and problems that they have encountered, just do the search discussion. I'm sure a lot of myLotters would help you out with this one.

Most people will learn as they do things on the internet. It would really depend on what you want to have on your website. You didn't tell us what kind of website you want or are thinking of making. Maybe you should try starting a blog first and take it from there.
