Picking up stray change isn't what it used to be....

It used to be that I could walk through parking lots (highschools, grocery stores, etc.) and find change all the time. I would visit the highschool after hours and while walking my dog, I would look for change on the ground. I think that times are getting so rough that people pickup the change they drop rather than just leaving it. I never pass up change since it all adds up and helps with the skinny times.
Do you collect change off the ground?

Change? Good grief thats nothing! (just kidding) I picked up paper money once. It was folded into four and a couple of bills too! It was quite a lot as well. With the currency conversion I'd say the total was like $25.
Another time I did pick up a Hfl 5,-- coin. That's like $2 and was the highest coin we had and was quite a lot of money. I was with some friends and gave it to the person whom we'd been visiting as a show of appreciation.
I do agree though that lately I've not seen many coins on the ground. I guess there are more people that are paying more attention and getting there before I do!

I would say you are lucky to be able to pick change off the ground. For me, I used to
pick them if I see any but not anymore. I now leave the coins as it is. I choose to believe what's not mine is not mine and can never be mine, I shall not pick it. I do not want to be paying more for what I picked.
