When I think of snakes, I think of running away from the rattler scared me in the desert by being near some rocks that I was walking near, and also think of one of my nephew's past pets that he let me hold... I know that some of you live in places where snakes have been known to kill people and others of you have snakes as pets... Tell us at myLot your relationship to and with snakes... Do you like them? Do you dislike them? Have you ever owned one-- what kind? Have you ever held one -- what kind? Have you ever been bitten by one -- what kind? Have you ever fed one--- what? Have you ever eaten one --- what kind, what did it taste like? Have you ever run from one? Have you ever known someone who was hurt or killed by one? Share your experience of snakes...

Thanks for sharing about the snakes you have known... and killed and held... I must admit that I would not want to see the anake eat the mouse. My sympathies would be fore the mouse.

was very enteresting to watch it try to wrap around the mouse to kill it first before eatting it then it swallowed it butt first for it couldnt get it turned around. then the lump went down and down to the belly. Thats what they eat in the wild so not upset about watching them eat them

I grew up in central Alberta Canada and the only snakes we had there were garter snakes, a non poisonous species but if you scare one they sure make a stinky smell. I've heard stories from excavators about digging trenches and hitting garter snake nests releasing a horde of literally hundreds and hundreds of snakes rushing out of a ripped open den in panick. I wonder if there's any pictures of that out there.

When I was little they had a snake expert come in and speak at one of those summer programs they have at the library. The expert brought along snakes and we were allowed to touch and hold them. As a child it seems to occur to us less to fear things so I of course touched and held the snakes, and to this day I don't have any real fears of them to speak of.

It is good that the snake expert came in and that you learned not to be afraid of snakes. Thanks for posting.
