Am I being unrealistic here?? Go to a coffee shop and just ask for as plain old cup of coffee and see what happens! Watch the blank expression on the staff members face as they very quickly try to work out in their head whcih of the 50 types of coffee they have on offer actually constitutes a "plain cup of coffee"! lol Am I alone in sometimes wanting to just have a straight coffee with milk?? Sometimes I don't want a mocha fudge, triple espresso, vanilla enhanced, Peruvian blend, frappuchino mixed cocoa bean flurry with a cinnamon twist! I just want a cup of coffee!!!!! Who's with me?

Wow, a mocha fudge, triple espresso, vanilla enhanced, Peruvian blend, frappuccino mixed cocoa bean flurry with a cinnamon twist sounds delicious!!! Sorry but a plain coffee with milk sounds very unadventurous and boring after that!!! But I know what you mean. Sometimes I just want a coffee. Fortunately I have a coffee pot.

Yeah... I SORT of have a coffee pot..... It's a metal teapot I boil water in and then heap powdered crap into it when its hot enough! lol. As you can see I am a true connaissuer! I have to admit that the other day I did buy a mocha something or other and it was delicious! Thanks for responding.

I think yard sales in Egypt is where you can actually go and buy a YARD! lol. God knows! I can get an electric kettle pretty much anywhere really. Let's just say I am a purist! lol.

Don't they have yard sales over there in Egypt where you can pick up an electric one for like 3 bucks?? I have 2 or 3 of them that are going in my yard sale (when I ever get around to having it).

We only have *counts* six types of coffee on the menu (though we'll make up anything you might want if you can describe it), we're just a small cafe (though we have close to about forty teas). If someone comes in and asks for a coffee they get an Americano with cold milk in a ceramic jug, no questions asked. However... you get that coffee up to them and they'll say "Oh, I wanted a cappuccino." Well why the hell didn't you say cappuccino?! Maybe the people that serve you are trying to work out how to ask if it really is just a coffee you want? Believe me, some people take it as an insult. Sometimes I don't want a mocha fudge, triple espresso, vanilla enhanced, Peruvian blend, frappuchino mixed cocoa bean flurry with a cinnamon twist! That sounds amazing! lol

Forty teas??? God help me! I hope everyone is realizing that my topic is tongue in cheek! lol. And yes, now that you mention it, the pretend coffee I used as an exagerrated example DOES sound pretty good! Thanks for responding.

I have tried to think of 40 different teas! Not easy! Must be a lot of flavor infusions of standard teas I reckon to make up the numbers!

lol, yes, forty. The cafe is at the back of a family owned health food store. If a customer wants a tea that isn't in the cafe we always check the shop... so we've ended up with LOTS of teas.

I think this basically depends on where you reside. Around here if you go into a coffee shop no matter which one they better know what a regular coffee is. But then I reside in the land of the Cheeseheads and we like to keep things simple, sometimes too simple but that's another story. And I think that I would skip coffe altogether if I had to order the mouth full you just uttered. Even though in all theroy it sounded pretty tasty.

The Land of Cheeseheads is the nickname for Wisconsin, USA. Because we are a leader in cheese and diary production and some clever person decided to make a big foam hat that looked like a wedge of cheese. This has now become one of the icons of Wisconsin and there Football team the Green Bay Packers.

Well maybe that is my issue then! I am currently in Cairo and there is not a Starbucks near me that I am aware of! If I see one I will try it! Thanks for responding.
