looking at the fashion designs today gets me alarmed. A long time ago people used to dress in skimpy skin covers showing too much flesh. Then man became civilized and began dressing properly. In Edwardian times women wore heaps and heaps of clothing in the name of clothing. They were dressed very conservatively. Come the 60s and it was tight jeans and sweaters. The jeans were replaced by the miniskirt just like the bathing suit has been replaced by the bikini today. The blouse was replaced by the spaghetti string. Even the underwear was replaced by the thong. Notice that the amount of clothing keeps reducing.
What next?..... 20 years from now you will tie a ribben around your thigh and walk around showing of the tag on the ribbon telling people that you are dressed in the latest XYZ designer wear!!!!

Right. And even though the clothes use up less material all the time, the prices still go up.
When I was a teen, there was no way in the world we would show our bellies if they were anything but flat. Now it doesn't matter how fat anyone is, they let let it all hang out. What makes people think we want to see their bulges????
