Which do you prefer, earning $100000/mo on a 8hr job or $1000/ mo doing nothing?

This is very tricky question to some, but very simple to people who think like me. I wanted to hear which do you choose and why? Probably you might have some points. This is a no wrong answer question. But one is much better than the other, from my point of view. Goodluck!

Well since $1000 a month would not cover my mortgage and my taxes combined, I guess I would have to go for the million. I believe in hard work, and actually have little respect for those who want something for nothing. Not to mention I don't think it is fair that those who work hard have to pay higher taxes to take care of those who don't want to work. So I would rather work hard and earn money, and a million dollars would be a great salary.

Nice answer, yes $1000 is small but this is permanent. I mean it as a result of what you did in the past and made it permanently flowing into you. Choosing this wouldn't mean you stop from doing anything. Yeah sure i think that those who work hard deserve rewards of big cash than those who do not, but what can you say about business men like the walmart's owner? What is not good about increase in salary is that the bigger your salary would become, the more time you need to spend at work. what if you can't work anymore? I think that aside from working hard, one should also be working smart. Time is our greatest asset, once it is gone, you will never get it back.

I'd rather earn the 100,000 a month by working. Here's why, 1,000 a month isn't really alot of money if you think about it. What could you do in your free time? Nothing, because 1,000 dollars doesn't go very far. However, if I worked for 1 year making 100,000 dollars a month, by the end of the year I would have 1,200,000 dollars. If I put that money in a few CDs or money market accounts that lasted for 3 months at a 2% interest rate I'd have made 24,000 in three months doing nothing, which averages out to 8,000 dollars a month.

sure...sorry about that. I am not earning dollar that is why. But let say the smallest amount is the average salary that is earn by average people at your place and the big cash is the highest salary someone could get.

I think we have to look at the $1,000 a month for doing nothing. I mean money is always costly. Somehow or other to get money, we have to work for it. And somewhere in my experiences I've found that people who earn more money tend to have higher stress levels and less quality time to hang out with their loved ones. Besides, people with high incomes don't necessarily keep their money. But what about the guys who make money work for them instead of having to work for their money. If I got a $1,000 for doing nothing, I could cover my basic needs without having to worry about work stress. With this in mind, I could actually think more clearly and spend the 8-hours of my day working on projects and money making things that I enjoy rather than the stuff that I have to do but don't like.

wow, u explained it well and we almost exatly have the same point. Not that other is wrong, but really, whether people accept it or not, its not how much money you have, it is how much money you keep. There are high earner people but still have debts. They got their home and cars through credit cards. Sure they can pay for the monthly bills, but what if they can't work anymore?

I'd take the 6 figures and the job over the 1k doing nothing. Not only would 1k not cover expenses, but I'd get extremely bored with nothing to do all day, every day.

$100,000 a YEAR is more than enough to live off, and would be fine by me, but monthly... That's just too much money. I prefer to be comfortable, not weatlhy. Now $1000 a month isn't quite enough, but for me, if that were adding to my husband's income, that would be good, so I suppose that would be my choice. If it were $1,000 a month and nothing else, I'd have to go get a job!

I would definitely take the 100,000 a month job. I would be bored doing nothing and $1,000 isn't much money. I could do the job for as many years as I wished and then quit and still retire with plently to live on. I'm tired of not having enough money to do things I would like to do.

for me I wouls go with the $100,000 on an 8hr job. It really is a no brainer. $1000 would basically only cover rent and maybe 2-3 bills and that is it. My husband and I are currently living off of just over $1000 a month and bearly making it. Thank goodness he just got a really good paying job so that we can catch up now.

I would work 8 hours a day for a lot let than $100,000 if it was a job I enjoyed doing. I would never take a highly paid job just for the money. To spend 8 hours every day it has to be something I feel comfortable with. I would much rather work for less money and be confident and relaxed than earn so much but be stressed and unsure of what I was doing. The free money for nothing would be great. I could always supplement it by earning extra money on the internet, and I could live simply but happily on that amount.

I'll go with $1000 per month.I was doing nothing and was earning monthly, while the hundred thousand will need hard work 8 hours a day.I was doing nothing and have assurance that could have a figure monthly, so if I'm going to have extra work a day, maybe I could have more that hundreds thousand a month.

The most important thing for me is not money but to enjoy my job so I would hate the sitting around doing nothing option so I would go for the well paid one.
