I am going to retake this year and it was because I skipped 2 months of school. Ofcourse I got some reason for it and did not go out to play around. But still... I do feel guilty for it and I know I could have done better. I know many people that have retaked some a year from school and some friends that stopped going to school after failed for one time. But I think if we are still young then why dont give ourself another chance and make it up and education is so importent now a days.
Have you ever retaked ur school year? or maybe know someone that have?
and what do you think?

It's better to repeat the year than to give up all together. You will never go back if you don't do it now. If you don't have an education these days, you're pretty much set up for failure.

Cant really say failure, I do have many friends that stopped studying after all highschool which is not much of a education and I dont know what they are planning to do either. Those work they doing now is usually for younger people and I will think what about when they get older....

Me, personally, i would try my hardest to not have to retake that school year. Tutoring, summer school, etc. But, the fact that you are willing to retake the year, shows how serious you are about your education. So, I can't see it being a bad choice. And, if your dealing with medicine/health (I assume you have a concentration in this field) it's important that you are confident about what you're doing. I know children that have been left back in school, and had to repeat a grade. I don't really see where it has any lasting effect on them. What's effecting them the most is usually some underlying condition at home that needs to be addressed. And, if it's not addressed, the children continue to have problems with school. Good Luck in the upcoming year!!

I've never had to retake a full year thankfully, but in college I've had to retake a couple classes.
One of my friends missed 4 months in elementary school and almost got stuck retaking a year, but since it was back in elementary school they figured most of that work was just busy work anyway so it was okay. I missed a month in elementary school and luckily I was so far ahead before (by a whole year) that I didn't have to go back either.
But I'd say it's better to go back then fall further behind. And later you won't even notice the difference of a year. Especially in college where different majors take different amounts of time and it won't matter what age you are by then.

I have not really experienced this.
It's sad to hear about what you will be going through my friend. What's important is that you understand why you have to go through this. Some may consider it a waste of time. But I believe that after this year, it will all be worth retaking. Good luck to you and I hope that you will be able to make it.

I have never had to retake a year of school, however, i did start late. When i graduated high school I had just had my baby boy. I literally graduated with a 1 month old. I had to home school for a little while, but i knew that i had to at least graduate high school. I didn't think that i would go to college, however, now I am attending college full time and on a fast track for my doctorates in the science of psychology. I have been working my butt off because now i have a family.
I know that right after high school I should have went to college, but i wanted to make sure that I was prepared with managing my family and handling school all at the same point. I believe that I made the right choice, and if i had to do it again i would have done the same thing.
I know that if anyone puts it in thier mind they can accomplish anything. It's not a bad thing to get a few parties out of your system, but then it's time to do the right thing and get an education. There is nothing wrong with having fun, but don't desimate your future doing it. Whatever makes you happy is the best thing (sometimes).

Retake is not a good thing but I think that it"s a chance for you to do an important thing again, not all the people can do it again,so you must do your best to do ,is it right.

I haven't had to retake anything YET. This year I think I am on the edge of failing a course though. There are so many people at my school that are retaking courses, it's sad. I'm hoping to get all my work done until the end of the year and we'll see if I can pass. :D

I'm in online school, so its really hard with timing my assignments. I'm really behind this year (like 4 months behind -- hopefully I can catch up over the summer)..
I don't think that its a bad idea to re-do a year of school, but if you got good enough grades even with the 2 months you missed, then why should you re-do the entire year?

because that I am studying dont have many books and we get paper each day from our teacher so I could not study in the whole 2 months and needed a program on our schools pc to train up something for the computer program, which we are not allowed to have the program at home.
I cannot keep up the studying they are having now and both study all those 2 months I have missed all at once. It's about medicine so I do have problem to remember so much medicine name and how it works and even missed 2 months for it...

It's your life, you know pretty much what's ahead. It's what you are comfortable with. I wanted out of high school so bad I knew that any subject I was weak in I could pick up at a junior college. School is always something you can go back to at any age but it is what you are comfortable with that matters. If you enjoy learning and can teach yourself to learn you are way ahead of getting a good education. It's important because technology is high in the world and it grows everyday.
