I've too many clamoring and bashing on this community, just because of those "crappy" discussions being posted here and there.. Against Mylot, the ratings and those who value so much about the color of their stars. And if you try to give them your opinion, which is usually backed-up with credible facts and explanation, they won't give a damn about you and would rather blame others or believe that it was TROLLS who were the one's responsible. (Give me a BREAK!) Well this is what I'll say to all of you, I have been a member here of almost two years now and nothing like that has ever happened to me. Why? It's because I know the rules, I play by it and follow everything to the best I could. So for those of you who still thinks that you're free to do everything here, think again! There are rules and guidelines to be followed here, so don't be too confident that you're excused just because you're newbies or that you don't "know" these rules exist.. Posting or starting/replying discussions about MILESTONES, POLLS, TALKING ABOUT THE EARNINGS and ADVERTISING/REFERRAL LINKS are NOT ALLOWED here. What the hell's wrong with you people, don't you know how to read?! For those who still continues doing this, watch out because I'm going to getcha! *And for the administrators, I suggest you perform a random check on mylot interests section because there are lots of these "ignorant" discussions being posted and started every day.*

Good rant raijin! Very well said, and I do so agree with your suggestion to admin to check the posts under interest groups. It's a joke that just because 'everyone else is doing it' it's ok for newbies! Frosts my brain everytime I read that! Rock on dude!

Thank you, I've seen you also on one of the post I've been to that got deleted. I'm glad of what you did there, you really put that member back to school. I will be monitoring these irregularities every once in a while, we've lost some good members just because they took a stand against these people and I think I'm going to do the same thing from now on..

Wow I am impressed! Something got my Raigin riled! I might add to this list jokes, recipes that start the discussion, copy paste emails, and generalized copy paste that look like they came from emails.

And I also forgot to mention, those who post or start discussions that aren't put in English. I am seeing them more often, one even posted nothing but just questions marks.

I actually seen one discussion that had an english title. When I checked it out, it was written in some foreign language. I was, ok I don't think I visited the Twilight Zone website.

I've been a member here more than two years and nothing like that has happened to me either. My rating has fallen from time to time but not that dramatically. There again I'm not interested in responding to discussions that are just promoting other sites and I very rarely respond to milestone/earnings discussions because they bore me. I don't mind some of the survey ones if I'm in the mood for it but it's still quite rare for me to respond. Personally I think people take the whole star thing far too seriously anyway and I'm tired of seeing people complaining about ratings and their star and trolls etc. The fact is a lot of the people I've seen doing the complaining DO either start or contribute to discussions that are against the guidelines. It has nothing to do with trolls! I don't know, maybe they just don't realise they're doing it but I'm not just talking about newbies on myLot, I'm talking about members who have been on here long enough to know better.

Your post was perfectly clear Raijin and it needed to be said. Let's hope it makes some people stop and think about their own actions before they point the finger at others. Thank you for BR - much appreciated!

Thank you Stilleto, that's what I've been trying to say here as well. Why blame others and point fingers, when four of their fingers are pointed back at them and that they were the one's responsible for their actions? I've seen those who's ratings that dropped respond on discussions that talks about earnings, milestones and even those irrelevant posts here. They only not do this once, but in a number of times in a repetitive posting. You really made a nice point here my friend, I wish I thought about this but I guess I just have to learn how to write my own post in a well-written manner.

I guess I just have to take things nicely here, but then again, I can't also avoid receiving negative and contradicting opinions here. I know that they won't listen, as most of them would even take what I said here in a negative way. But the time of being nice is over for me now, I have to do this to send them the message. You're very welcome my friend, hope you have a good day and thanks for sharing again your wonderful opinion here.

Seems you're mad at this time my friend. I don't participate in discussions you mentioned though i don't know much about the rules or just forgot about it. The first and last i read the rules is when i signed up he he he... Why the fuss over the star rating? Don't they see anyone from me? I think the star rating should be removed it makes no sense at all and doesn't contribute to our earnings. The fluctuating stars gave the owners some disappointment no matter how they tell us that it doesn't affect them, but why make a discussion about it?

It's not that I value mine, but I am tired of people asking about why this and that about their stars and yet they won't pay attention. And seeing this happening, those "unhappy" members would come to post like that and insist that it was a TROLL's work and so on.. I am reacting to what these people do, because most of them I really saw lose points or dropping of stars violate the guidelines. I've seen them, even I reported them on the admin and that's why their posts got deleted.

milestones? i never knew that that was also prohibited. milestones can pave way for an interesting discussion you know. i ought to read the guidelines. its been like a month since i last read it. the other members might able to relate with it and share their own experiences or something. i agree with you on the star-obssessed people though. they place so much value on it, i just dunno why, does it increase their ego/self esteem or something? while i appreciate other users rating me positively for my responses, i couldnt care less if my star rating goes down or not.

Milestone are not really worth a subject to discuss, it is be considered as spamming here. It doesn't make sense at all, if they (mylot admin) tolerate it here then almost everyone could just trust posting about their milestones and birthdays here. It doesn't contribute nor credit anything, since most members only believe that they could almost do anything here and post. When the fact is, our main goal here is to contribute and discuss.

Whoa!Calm down, raijin. Do you still remember when I was still a newbie and I posted a discussion about my star rating that dropped dramatically? I was convinced that someone was out to get me based from reading other discussions that there are trolls that stalks some members. But you patiently and carefully explained to me that lowered ratings may only mean I've violated some MyLot guidelines without even knowing it. And because of that, I felt more comfortable MyLotting. And because of what you've explained to me, I gave the same explanation for other members who were also convinced that it was the trolls faults. Anyway, I did notice that in the past two weeks, there were lots of discussions that were a big no-no. It seemed MyLot was flooded with discussion violators. Unfortunately, for some newbies, I don't think some of them has the patience to read the whole guidelines, word for word. There were lots of discussions that was concerned with dropped star ratings. Mine also dropped but I don't fret about it anymore. I do think, though that those who posts discussions about dropped star ratings are concerned with how it might affect their earnings. I've read in one discussion that it said in the guidelines/rules that lowered star rating also means lowered earnings. And that might be the reason for all these sprouting discussion no-nos.

Thanks my friend, I'm really glad that you've maintained your ratings still at ten. Me too, though it dropped to a nine, I never blamed anyone for who caused it to drop nor remain still at 93/100 (no matter what I do). It doesn't bother me, what's important is that I still love being here. And as for the low ratings, it doesn't really affect our earnings here. We earn based on the Quality our of posting, by providing informative and contributive posts. I've read that somewhere in the FAQ's, just not sure what section was it and as well on one of the discussions made by the admin back then..

As much as possible, I don't want to turn into that one. It would be a very tiring task, plus I'll attract lots of negative reactions from other members that I might step on to, especially those who won't listen because of their egos and pride. I guess I'll just have to do what I can and whenever I could, I also know that there are still other concerned members who does the very same thing that I do here.

Hey, thanks. From reading other discussions, other members base their "opinions" on other members through the color of their stars. If they're blue, they are perceived as members who posts quality discussions. But this isn't true at all. I've seen other members with very good discussions but with other star colors. And their discussions are not only interesting but very informative. I guess, you're the newly "hired MyLot police!".Keep up the brave work, raijin. It takes guts to confront those who are too stubborn and refuse to comply with rules.

People make mistakes hun, some more than others. LOL!!1 Please don't get to upset about it. You don't need the stress. Stress is bad for you and can harm you more than you aware of. I hear what you say and I understand that you are frustrated my friend. But you have to remember not everyone is going to read the guidelines. Some people just start posting or it happens because some of us hate the politics of writing to them and getting no answer. Are they wrong for breaking the guideline Yes! But It happens take it in stride and avoid the conversations. Just like you avoid the discussion that you don't like. I'll also say that alot of people don't go by the guidelines and rules. Unfortunately just because they are in place doesn't mean that they are going to be respected and followed. That is why we have deleted discussion and we have people starting discussion about stars and ratings and other stuff. Relax breath in breath out. I have very rarely see you get upset ... Trust me it's not worth get this upset over this. Take care hun and I hope you have a nice day.

The thing that bothers and worry me is, when these people respond on newbies posts and say different things about this site and how things work here. I'm tired of it, especially when newbies are mislead because of these people who aren't happy, because they feel like they don't deserve the ratings they have. Thank you my friend, I know that you all know me and how good I am here. But sometimes, some people want to let the bad side of me and make me want to tell them what they lack at. I find this aimed the other way around, because my previous discussions concerning about these topics only went though deaf ears. I thought that it's time for me to make my discussion different, and I feel sorry for those who got offended just because I pointed out their mistake that they try to deny at themselves.

raijin I also know the rules and Ihave only been here about four months. I also know I have reread them and did not break any rules so why did my star go from ten to six in two days, answer tme that, as I did not flame anyone, I did not call anyone names, all I did was start a discussion on non smoking and one on jehovahs witnesses so someone did not agree with me and went on a campaign to minus the hell out of me. I did not do a d amned thing wrong so why did this happen to me? also I told mylot and they did email' me and told me that they had caught two people who were abusing hitting the minus key, so do not tell me that there are not trolls.

You should be asking that same question to yourself, have you not replied to any of those said posts that I mentioned? (think) I know that I've seen you responding to some of those, milestones and birthdays.. That's just a very simple issue, try not engage to any of them and see for yourself how your rating would progress. Yes you know the rules, but if you still ignore it then there's no point of denying the mistakes you did to yourself. Also, for the times I've been here. Why didn't my star dropped, can you tell me why, then?

Raj, its not simply posting to these discussions that causes a star to drop. If the discussion gets deleted, it doesn't really affect the rating too much. Its the ratings that people give that causes a star to rise or fall.

Though I have lost a few points, I know that it is due to an error on my part. Most likely I responded to an improper discussion that was a duplicate and didn't realize it, looking through the don't s that is the only thing I can figure. I have the discussion guidelines printed for quick reference, for some reason, I retain things better seeing them on paper...go figure. I do admit that there are times that I have entered a one word response, which is usually due to the fact that someone has posted 4 or 5 discussions on the same thing. I know that it will most likely be deleted though I had hoped that seeing such answers would cause them to think about their discussion content, though I probably should have just ignored them altogether. I will try to guard against this in the future. If I know a discussion is against the rules (with exception of the condition above) I do not respond. One thing that does irritate though is posting of a discussion in a category that doesn't pertain to it. I don't have a problem with losing points or money if I post against the rules...I respect that. And finally, thank you for your concern. I hope that when I have been here for the length that you have, I show the same concern for the place I have come to spend so much of my time.

I never knew nor even saw you do those things even before we became friends, but I do know that you don't whine about it if you did and that's good. The one's I'm pertaining to where those old and new members who already knows the reasons, yet they still don't listen. And continuously start discussions about their stars, deleted posts because they weren't satisfied of the outcome of their daily activity. I myself have received tons of those deleted posts, but never in my mylot life that I did whine about it here or rant because I know that I'm also the one's responsible of the actions I did.

I know how you feel, I've been saying everything you said to myself for a long time. But then I figured I'm not going to stress myself out. Some people just don't read the guidelines or maybe they can't read. But if I stress myself out, then that would be my problem. Life is too short. Why worry, because you may not believe it but I really think that what goes around, comes around. Whatever each of us puts into the world, will come back to us, whether good or bad. I hope you don't think I'm giving you unsolicited advice because I don't mean to. I just wanted to let you know how I feel about this issue. I may not be here tomorrow, one of my loved ones could be gone, there's people dieing all around me, so I'm trying to have peace within me because I'd be as angry as you seem and then who or what would I be good for. Know what I mean. So, take care. Good luck.

Well, reading and understanding are two different words. I can read Korean but I can't understand it. I think some of them especially the newbies take for example from the existing posts. Example, many users here discuss their umpteenth post which is one of the DONTs in mylot guideline. And they don't seem to get banned. I mean if such post is not allowed then how come they can get through and not being filtered from the start? I notice when we use indecent words our post cannot be submitted unless we delete that word. Why can't they do the same with posting mileage?

It will always be a problem, I guess, while ever there are new members joining that they WILL NOT read the Guidelines. I think it's fine to jump into any discussion they post and offer them a helping hand but I think it's best not to bite the hand that feeds us and leave myLot to run their site as they see fit. It is very annoying when people do the wrong thing but it's best to ignore it in a lot of cases because some long term members also seem think that their seniority gives them some sort of advantage or power. I don't remember reading that anywhere.

Yah, I was really so stupid last night when I responded to this discussion. I've got no connection for the past 4 days. So what I did last night is to catch up and have more posts. But to tell you frankly, this discussion was the only one that I responded without reading the body of it. I am so sorry for that... Anyway, I am one that is affected by this discussion. I am still new here and not so particular with the rules. Again, sorry for being so foolish. I remember posting a link somewhere in my discussions or comments. I did it because I also saw some other's discussions with their link, so I thought it was ok. Now, I guess I have to review the rules now. Again, my apologies, raijin. And also to you jcj_111776...
