I am proud of my country Australia and i am proud to be Australian. We live in a beautiful country that is so diverse and we have so much potentials we are a young country. We have people from all around the world who live here and we are a free country. Americans make such a big deal of being free as though you live in the only free country in the world. My country is just as free as yours but we dint go around telling everyone that it is a free country . There are many free countries in this world not just yours. Americans can be very over the top about their country which is good but it is to the annoyance of people from other countries, sure you think you live in the best country in the world well there are many people all around the world who believe their country is the best in the world but dint ram it down everyones throats.I read a thread where someone was saying that the Indians dint seem to like America, maybe if Americans were not as bombastic about themselves and there country it would be easier for others to like you. There is a big beautiful world out there with loads of countries as free as yours but you just dint seem to see it.I will always remember an interview on American TV just prior to your elections,i could not believe when i heard the reader say that after all we are electing the president of the world A the other people in the studio agreed with him . Well he is not my president and never will be how arrogant but that seems to be how most Americans feel . If your country is criticized you all seem to think it is political,no it is not always political.

I'm with terriann, I am proud to be an American because I can worship God the way I desire and write/speak how I desire. Though I'm not proud of how the president is handleing somethings. I'm also proud of the other heritage I have in me: Irish, Swedish, German.

I honestly have to say yes, because sometimes I look at some of the other countries and see how hard they have to actually struggle to survive. I think that a lot of Americans take this freedom for granted.

Most Americans are very proud. And what I don't get all the people that live here and say they do not like it, well then why are they here? People everyday leave their country and move into ours.
The land of the free, here they are free to voice that they do not like it here, go figure. But if they were in their home land they would not have the right to voice their feelings and opinions. Yet, come here, to what they think is a bad place? Oh, some think it is the Land of the free. That things are free, get a job with no skills, get an education with out paying for it, have help with health issues,a place to live and food to eat.
Don't worry that there are no taxes coming out of all that free help. We working Americans will pay for them. While our kids go hungry and homeless. Oh, by the way when moving into a our country, forget the law of the land, one can always claim they just don't understand it or know it.
I'm sorry this is so long, but to say it is not a proud thing to be an American. Where is your head at?

I do not take pride in the fact that I am an American, not because Anerica is unworthy of pride, but because I had nothing to do with being born American. Am I thankful I am American. Yes. We have certain rights and liberties not afforded others in other countries. But because of our status in the world, we also have much responsibility. "To whom much is given, much is expected."

I am proud to be an American. I love the freedoms that we have. The right to vote and chose those that lead us. We may not always agree with what they do - but we do have the right to chose them and change if we feel necessary. I enjoy the technologies that are available to us. I also enjoy the freedom to do what we chose for a profession.

I am vey proud to be an American. We do make mistakes, we are human. We have freedoms here that we take for granted. But we do have freedom to believe the way we want, we have opportunities with education, where we want to live. We have rights here. I would not want to live anywhere else in the world.

I love America and the things that I can do in my home country, but I hate the reputation that we have.
